Serious Sam HD out next week News

Croteam has announced that Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter will be released for PC on 24th November.

The announcement comes in an exclusive trailer on Eurogamer TV today.

"Over the past years we have had loads of fans requesting that we bring the world of Serious Sam up to date and give him a high-definition makeover," said Roman Ribaric, CEO.

"The reaction we have had since we announced we were working on Sam has been simply amazing."

The game is available to pre-order now from the likes of Steam.

Eurogamer readers might want to hang on though - to celebrate next week's launch of our own digital distribution service, Get Games, Serious Sam HD will be available for £9.99 for a limited period.

Look out for more on that and a review of the game soon.

The Xbox Live Arcade version of First Encounter has yet to receive a release date.

Nice! Payday is on the 24th... I think I'll be purchasing Serious Sam of you guys for £9.99... Love how you guys posted the Serious Sam price on steam for £16 :)

Edit: Will the digital distribution service be out on the 24th? or will it be out later on in the week? thanks!

I think I read it'll be 1200 points on Xbox, which makes sense going by the PC pricing.

I can stomach 1200 points for something that used to be a full priced retail game, especially since it's been polished up. Can't afford to buy it yet mind, but as soon as I get paid... bring it on!

An EG games distribution system, you say? Any loyalty perks for long-term members of the site? ;)

@wizlon - it was never a full price game. Serious Sam was released as a budget title from the start.

Co-op on Serious sam as long as there is absolutely no slowdown will be awesome on XBL.

Especially if you put the difficulty up :)

I don't know. I was exited about this at the beginning, but I kinda hoped it was going to be TSE too. But paying 20€ for TFE only, that's a bit too much. Considering that I already have it, finished on Serious, the graphics ain't that bad yet, and it even works fine in widescreen.

Of course, for £10, I could consider...
