Jackpot website hosts countdown.

SEGA has sent out messages pointing to a teaser website for a "mystery new game".

The site's headlined "Jackpot" and consists of a little Flash applet showing a lottery machine which spits out coloured balls with numbers on them when you crank the handle.

The numbers spat out appear to be a countdown timer indicating that there are five days remaining until whatever it is happens.

See you on 21st July at 3pm BST, then.

Now it's 042340. Weird. Anyway, the balls seem to go down by one each minute.

The source code says id="nights", but i guess that's not related.

Countdowns are really begining to get old.. I can't say I have any interest in paying attention to ANY of them anymore, let alone one from Sega. They think I'm going to look forward to yet another crappy Sonic game? A new Jet Set Radio, Skies of Arcadia or Shenmue would be the only way I'd be interested, and the chances of any of them happening are remote.

looking at their javascript is interesting - looks like they use :

Nope. It's changed. Now it says "name ="samba"". And before it said "nights", and at one point even "sonic".

They are trying to throw our aim off. After all, they knew someone would be looking at this stuff. Chances are it's going to be something completely different.
