SEGA quiet on Condemned 2

Can't comment on retail listing.

SEGA has declined to comment on reports that Condemned 2 is in development.

News of the game's existence has been rumoured in one of those occasionally-reliable retailer listings, but the publisher was unusually shy about clearing up the confusion when we spoke to them this morning - suggesting there may be more to this one than usual.

Play.com's listing claims that the Xbox 360 sequel will be arriving in November, for the record, and describes it simply as, "A superb sequel of brilliantly brutal bloody hand to hand brawling..." The listing still sits snugly on the site.

Condemned: Criminal Origins was one of the first games to be released on Xbox 360 back in November 2005, and turned out to be a pretty good horror adventure. Head over to our Condemned review for more information.

Surely it would be multiplatform by now?

I'd buy that in a flash. Really loved the first one.

Condemned is still the best Xbox 360 game from my perspective that offers an experience like no other.

    Who cares about Condemned anyway?

    Way overrated game IMO...
  • Ciaran500 #6 5 years ago

Maybe everyone doesn't have the same opinion as you?

"Maybe everyone doesn't have the same opinion as you? "

What's why I wrote "IMO"... fool!

Clearly 3 people above your post care about it!!!

Was a very good game. And looks great.

Condemned 2 would be a must buy for if it turns out to exist.
  • Basselito #11 5 years ago

Man that would be cool. I just picked my copy up after playing it a year ago and was thinking about how cool it would be if they did a sequal. :)

So I'm not entitled to my opinion???

    IMO=IN MY OPINION

Those creepy store mannequins haunt me to this day!

Still playing the first one (near the end though), on one had it looks like a formulaic FPS with sub par gfx (for 'next gen'), but then something about it pulls you in, it has atmosphere and shocks and great animation in places. Also the graphics sometimes look almost "real", when they are good they are great, it's not always consistent though.

It definitely has a more immersive feel than many games I've played though, and a sequel would be welcome. :)

You can say IMO as much as you like. You said

    "Who cares about Condemned anyway?"

Then preceeded to call someone a fool.
So I answered your question which had nothing to do with your opinion but didnt feel the urge to "diss" you!

"So I'm not entitled to my opinion???

    IMO=IN MY OPINION"

I think it's less about the "imo" and more about the "Who cares about Condemned anyway?", as though it's impossible that anyone could care about it.

This is great news... I loved this game.
Nice and opressive atmosphere. Bit like Manhunt.

Think that they could do more with the clues mechanic but I thought it was scarier than any survival horror games.

Pretty good game, but the fighting was a bit too simplistic over the long haul.

    Enjoyable though.

I never got past the store mannequins. I got to the bit where they surround you and fled.
  • ReNo #21 5 years ago

That reminds me to get back to finishing the first one; I rather rudely abandoned it near the end after picking up a few too many 360 games soon after buying it.

    [rubs hands in anticipation]

Really loved Condemned, scared the bejesus out of me on many occasions - and I still shudder whenever I see a shop window mannequin.

It did have many flaws however - the whole fbi tools being spoon-fed and some of the gfx were a little on the shady side, but those are things that can be fixed for the sequel so it could really kick some ass.

    Hope this is true.

The first half of the original game was excellant - then it all went downhill for me. I hope they have more collecting of evidence and collaborating with a team (like the start). More Seven or even Texas Chainsaw Massacre/ Halloween than some demon monster boss crap.

I thought the level design was bollocks

    IMO
  • Darth_Flibble #25 5 years ago

I really hope there is a second game, first time I played I didn't know about the shop window mannequins
  • Zane #26 5 years ago

Meh, roll on Silent Hill 5 ;)
  • YourMessageHere #27 5 years ago

Can't speak for the Xbox one but the PC version was a pretty bad waste of the FEAR engine. Good basic idea but so so limited in what you could do, and really slow and cumbersome; also, got to say, as soon as it started with the mannequin business I just knew there would be people dressed up as them, for no readily apparent reason. A sequel might fix it but probably wouldn't.

Excellent news! I thought this was quite an underrated game (IMO) as it seemed to slip by lots of my friends and colleagues radars. However, I have literally just the other day completed another playthrough and I think it is really VERY good. It is by far the single most scariest game I have ever played and although other games achieve the odd gasp or jump Condemned blends ultra-violent survival horror with dark, twisted creepiness exceptionally well and it is a real credit to Monolith. Even playing the game on a sunny Sunday afternoon will end up with me crunched over the controller with tingles going down my spine as some jacked-up hobo swings at me with a two-by-four with nails in it.

Bring on Condemned 2 and lets hope they really utilise the power of next-gen.

I used to work for them and can confirm this rumour... Rubbish game though!
  • Sl1pstream #30 5 years ago

I loved the first one, still one of my top 5 360 games.
