Bespoke controller would be "expensive".

It can't be any dafter than the Steel Batallion controller.

Of course the Dreamcast and Saturn TwinSticks were mainly necessary because the SS/DC pads only had one analog stick each. The 360 controller has two.

Pice is not an issue.

it's not analogue control that's needed though - the sticks for the Saturn & DC were digital.

Should work pretty well with the 360 controller. Times have changed.

Expensive custom controller that's only useful for one game? Those things are my weakness. Should look great on the pile with my steering wheel, Steel Batallion controller and many years worth of plastic instruments.

@ComradePete - why, have you played the new 360 game then? It might have analogue controls

"We're thinking about it, but we're thinking about how expensive it would be to actually put out, so we probably won't do it afterall."

Seriously some of these news items are very bizarre, and we've had two from Sega (the other about Platinum Games' Mad World yesterday) about how they aren't doing stuff but are thinking about it.

Honestly its like with the Bioshock non story, the industry, devs and journalists alike needs to stop putting out non news, and people like me need to stop clicking on it *ahem*.

I'd trade body parts for a twin stick controller like that. I'm still kicking myself for missing out the Steel Batalion one. A big chunk controller with twin sticks would get a large chunk of my money.

Obviously when I say trade body parts, it wouldn't be my arms.

Speaking of - when are we getting a 360 Steel Batallion game?
I was SO pissed off that I missed out on the one copy my local store got in, because I didn't have a job at the time...

I know nothing about Virtual On or fighting games or arcade controllers, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but... doesn't the 360 controller already have dual sticks?

If the quality is good, the sticks are decent analogue things and they mount the triggers on the sticks properly, then I'm interested.

They'll need to be sure not to leave out any controller buttons though - because I'll want to use it to play FPSs with.

If they're making a custom controller, you'd imagine it'd be digital as that's what the game's designed for. It has very precise timing so you need tight, accurate digital sticks.

@DB2k - the 360 game has a few different control options; you can use the analogue sticks or the d-pad & face buttons as the two 'sticks'. (info thanks to a chap who's played the version on Partnernet')

What I was getting at though is that the original sticks were digital, thereby eliminating any problems with the analogue sticks dead zones.
