Well one thing will be good at least, but actually I think Marky Mark is the perfect actor for Max. See how it comes out.

Yeah it could go either way really. Not too pleased with the choice of star though.

At a PG-13 rating, I doubt we'll be seeing any of the drug-induced, blood-trail-following nightmare sequences from the games make it to the screen.

Shame.

Nah doesnt look nearly constipated enough!

Nah i kid, i just always remember the static, "im now gonna put a bullet in all of your arses real quick but slowly(?) and get to the bog" expression he had on his face!

Brilliant game though, fond memories with the perfect premise for a good gritty film!

"The big screen version of Rockstar's olden-days game"??????

Something tells me the actual developers of Max Payne - Remedy Entertainment, might not be overly impressed with you assertion of it being a "Rockstar's olden-days game" Ellie.

Marky Mark as Max Payne and Mila Kunis as Mona??? Now, is this THE ultimate in miscasting or simply the worst casting decision ever?

Marky Mark is nowhere near gritty or fucked up enough

*makes mental note of films to watch*

I used to think Marky Mark was p!sh too, but his supporting performance in the Departed was actually pretty damn good. I'd have high hopes for the Max Payne movie, a game I loved for its atmosphere, but I know better than to expect anything from a game-to-movie project.

Mark Wahlberg has turned into a very competant actor over the years imo.

There are all sorts of ways in which this film (like any other) could fail, but I don't consider his casting as one of them.

For me Max Payne is all about the dialogue and character style. If they focus on that it could be good, if they just go heavy on the slow motion shooting to the cost of all else, it will likely be bobbins (or it may be fun, but it won't be MP).

Be interesting to see how it will turn out. He might not look like Max Payne but I think he could pull it off.

While Max Payne offers probably the best story of any shooting gaming I can think of (and makes much better use of bullet time than any Matrix game), I don't think the movie will work. The director won't have a clue, and the actors won't give a sh*t as long as they get paid. See: Hitman.

Games and movies just don't mix, we know this. It's very rare for either to dab into the other and equalling successful results.

OMFG!!!! HE LOOKS JUST LIKE...well, actually he looks just like Mark Wahlberg. In a jacket.

What they need to do is compress his head into a oblong shape, with all the facial features condensed into a small space in the middle on the front. Then they'll have the authentic Max Payne look...

Apparently not.

Wahlberg looks like a great choice to me. Unless you somehow think the actor needs to look exactly like Max payne in the game, but then that would be a silly idea.

Jeez, what a cute cast...I'd be happily surprised if they pull of the dark tone of the original with these actors.

Wouldn't it be cheaper if they made the complete film in CGI nowadays? I would like to see a more dark and rugged character than Mark, something in the direction of Justin Theroux in Mullholland Dr. I wonder who turned this role down before Mark...and Mila... jeez
