See Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne
Family Guy's Meg set to co-star.
A new shot of Mark Wahlberg in his role as Max Payne has appeared over on Dark Zero.
It shows the former Funky Bunch boss wearing a rather nondescript black anorak and getting into a car whilst getting rained on. And looking cross.
The big screen version of Rockstar's olden-days game is being directed by John Moore. He was responsible for the 2006 version of The Omen, plus Flight of the Phoenix and Behind Enemy Lines.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mila Kunis will star opposite Wahlberg as an assassin on a mission to avenge her sister's death. Kunis is best known for appearing in That '70s Show and providing the voice of Meg in Family Guy.
As reported ages ago, the Max Payne movie will take inspiration from Clint Eastwood classic The Outlaw Josey Wales. There's still no official word on a release date, though IMDB reckons it could be out as soon as October.

Well one thing will be good at least, but actually I think Marky Mark is the perfect actor for Max. See how it comes out.

Something tells me the actual developers of Max Payne - Remedy Entertainment, might not be overly impressed with you assertion of it being a "Rockstar's olden-days game" Ellie.

Hope they include the freaky babay wailing.

Marky Mark is nowhere near gritty or fucked up enough

There are all sorts of ways in which this film (like any other) could fail, but I don't consider his casting as one of them.
For me Max Payne is all about the dialogue and character style. If they focus on that it could be good, if they just go heavy on the slow motion shooting to the cost of all else, it will likely be bobbins (or it may be fun, but it won't be MP).

What they need to do is compress his head into a oblong shape, with all the facial features condensed into a small space in the middle on the front. Then they'll have the authentic Max Payne look...

NOT something to go around bragging about

Apparently not.
Wahlberg looks like a great choice to me. Unless you somehow think the actor needs to look exactly like Max payne in the game, but then that would be a silly idea.

Wouldn't it be cheaper if they made the complete film in CGI nowadays? I would like to see a more dark and rugged character than Mark, something in the direction of Justin Theroux in Mullholland Dr. I wonder who turned this role down before Mark...and Mila... jeez
