Did anyone buy this? The Shopto ad showing the current price as less than £10 suggests not.

well the demo i played was shocking like a low budget halo imo. The only defining feature was the fact you got dropped on to the battlefield from thousands of feet up, however this got boring after about five minutes...................

"I managed to pick it up sub £10"

And you can spend over 50% of that again for 3 maps. Now that it is value for money.

enjoyed the demo and was going to pick this up cheap at some point but the lack of players for such a multiplayer focussed title makes it a bit pointless. of course, if others are thinking the same way means that the game has no chance of a revival if people like me won't grab it for a tenner...

more to the point, my ratio of 'unplayed or unfinished titles sitting on my shelf'/'free time for game playing' is so high at the moment that I will probably have to hold off on picking up AAA titles like Mass Effect 2 never mind this one.

Pretty good game, will be picking up this dlc. One of the sleeper multiplayer hits of last year for me, plays very tactical.

Btw you can always get onto a game nowadays with the new matchmaking patch. For 10 quid you can't really go wrong IMHO, just give it a bit of time before it clicks. This is no easy mw2.

Played the demo, it was good but not the Tribes 2 replacement I hoped it would be. Alas, it was quite obvious the servers would be breached, banged and cleared by MW2 so I didn't partake.

I also noted that for a game called Section 8 (which was a US military term for being discharged due to mental illness) the game didn't seem nutty enough to suit the title. Yes, jumping into battle from orbit is kind of nuts but the rest was a very by-the-numbers sci-fi story. Certainly not on the crazyometer with Section 8 the superheroes (Dogwelder!)

The PC DLC has been out for a few weeks already. I think S8's balancing is the complete opposite of MW2's, while MW2 focuses on making individual players into heroes (you can even win the game singlehandedly by getting the nuke!) and having them grind for extra gear S8 forces you to work as a team and pretty much bashes down any attempt to be a hero and do stuff alone since even the most awesome maneuvering can be stopped dead by several enemies with lock-on. Also it's nice that everyone gets the same tools right away (except the auto pistol but that thing's a joke anyway so no loss), even at level 1.

And you can spend over 50% of that again for 3 maps. Now that it is value for money.

I think that amounts to 50% more maps too, Section 8 didn't have that many of 'em. Supposedly they're very high quality but since it's about MP and you can only play them with other DLC owners I'm not sure how much use you'll get out of them.
