Second Warhawk expansion in April

Plus fresh DLC before that.

Sony plans to unleash the second Warhawk expansion pack, Operation Broken Mirror, in April.

It will cost GBP 3.99 and feature a Personnel Carrier plus seven arenas in the Vaporfield Glacier.

These snowy maps are based around a Eucadian research facility infiltrated by Chernovan spies. The white-blanketed rooftops of the town will be split up to cater for large and small battles.

You will need to use the armoured personal carrier to ferry around six passengers - who can fire out of side hatches - using a speed boost to overcome obstacles. Walls may prove tricky. You also get a shield to absorb enemy gunfire.

In early April, before Broken Mirror, Sony plans to released two fresh weapon types for infantry: the wrench and the Bio Field Generator.

The former replaces the knife, can be used to repair thins, and is useful as a metaphor in adult films. The latter also replaces the knife and is used as a proximity mine to stick to vehicles and walls.

All team members standing in the nanite cloud will be healed, while all enemies will be slowly killed.

Warhawk has already been given one expansion, Operation Omega Dawn, which failed to bowl us over. Find out why with our review.

I was hoping they would have somehow implemented a new weapon select menu making way for more weapons in the future.

    Beggers cant be choosers. :(

Hey! Sticking mines on tanks, wahawks, jeeps, turrets and above doors is the way of the ambusher. It's what they are for and why you can only carry 4 of them. Plus this strategy only catches out the unwary. The light on the mines make them quite easy to see.

I have to agree with Luke. Mines don't fit with the pace of warhawk, are too powerful and have far too big a radius of death. It's not a game where you can take the time to check for them, and they're too hard to destroy. Would like to see at least the option of turning them off in a hosted game, or make them able to be cleared easily with another grenade or rocket. Yayy for the upgrade though.

They only replace the knife if you pick them up.. The knife is still in the game :)

I don't like mines in the sky capital level, since its almost impossible to get into the enemy base. In any other map they're fine. They're a good part of balancing I think. It stops jeeps just running in and grabbing the flag / spawn points, and if you're a bit more careful (ie use lightning or tank), you can end up killing a lot of enemies with their own mines even.

    yeah, bring it on!

Warhawk fun forever to be continued!

I don't find the mines imbalanced, think of the Badlands level, its very easy to mine up and secure your flag... on the flip side, you can also turn this around. If you can secure the spawn area of their mines, a) you rack up kills as people try to get to the mine spawn, b) the flag then becomes undefended leaving it open for strong attacks.

Otherwise maps like the Eucadia ones where the large island bases aren't used would just be subject to jeep rushes.

I kinda like the way you really have to SLOG for capture, makes it all the more worthwhile when you capture, plus stirs up the same emotions I get when fighting away over no-mans-land on Day Of Defeat:Source.
