Second MGO expansion for TGS next week

Three new maps, two new characters.

Konami has promised to show a second Metal Gear Online expansion at the Tokyo Game Show next week.

Inside will be three new areas - Silo Sunset, Forest Firefight and Winter Warehouse - and two extra characters: Liquid Ocelot and Mei Ling.

There's no date or price, according to the Famitsu piece (as read by Destructoid), but Ellie, Oli and Kristan will be jetting off to the Tokyo event to find out.

The first Metal Gear Online add-on, the Gene Expansion, released back in July and promptly broke Konami's internet. That pack cost EUR 9.99 and added a trio of maps, a Survival mode, the Reward shop, plus more heroes and also female characters.

Metal Gear Online is the multiplayer sibling to Metal Gear Solid 4. Head over to our Metal Gear Solid 4 review to find out more.

I never hear anyone about this. And while I have played MGS4 and enjoyed it I never took the effort to fire this up (partly because of bad feedback about servers and registration), how is it faring now? Should I give it a shot?

Definately give it a go, it's not everyones cup tea but I love it

It's a different experience to CoD4 but with the right bunch of people playing together it's great fun

I'm really looking forward to the new maps \o/

Yeah, it's great fun. But I never bothered with the first expansion pack. Won't be paying out for this one either.

The Gene Expansion was a massive waste of money for me. I've never even played Survival Mode because the requirements are retarded.

If they don't fix the first one why would anyone bother to buy the second expansion pack? This is an example of a great game spoiled by a stupid online system.
