Second batch of Fable II DLC revealed

See the Future offers just that.

Microsoft and Lionhead have revealed the second batch of Fable II downloadable content, which will be arrive in May for 560 Microsoft Points (GBP 4.76 / EUR 6.72).

Dubbed See the Future, the main story revolves around three cursed items possessed by Murgo the Trader. In investigating these, players will once more control the fate of Albion, and eventually be rewarded with a glimpse into the future and what awaits those born into the heroic bloodline.

Key attractions in See the Future include the Colosseum arena, which apparently puts the previous Crucible challenge to shame, and Murgo the Trader with his wide array of exotic wares - like a potion that turns dogs into different breeds.

There are also some new quests; one involves a town trapped within a snow globe, and another features a cursed knight whose torment needs ending.

On top of that are new legendary artefacts, creatures, clothes, hairstyles, make-up, expressions, tricks and collectibles.

Is this a new area, or additions to the current area?

Shit, I accidentally deleted all my saved games 4 weeks ago (don't ask). Ah well, Albion here I come ... again.
  • richardiox #3 3 years ago

I would love to see DLC combo packs as would be interested in getting this and Knothole for a combined lower price...800 or 100 for the two would be ideal

Comparing Fable 2 to Lost Odyssey? That makes no sense whatsoever. Both great games. Both completely different.
  • Monkey_Puncher #5 3 years ago

There's certain games that always seem to attract bitching in the comments thread, unfortunatly Fable 2 is one of those.

Anyway, looking forward to the new content!

560 MP... what a peculiar price point! :?
  • ronuds #7 3 years ago

Well, Crofto's too hard core for us - he needs games that you die a lot in to be satisfied. I can't keep up with his awesomeness.

I'll admit a difficulty slider would have been nice, but not having one didn't hamper my enjoyment of the game. It's my GoTY of '08 without a doubt.

    @ronuds

Sounds like both. The arena and snowglobe town sound like new areas to me.

"Shame these downloadable content packs weren't already on the disc"

Well I suppose technically it is a shame that Fable 2 didn't have Lost Oddysey already on the disc. It is also a shame that the summer in England is short and puctuated with frequent periods of rain.

    ;)
  • ronuds #10 3 years ago

Yeah, I'd hope all games were as short as Fable II. My character has over 30 hours in and I haven't even completed all quests yet.

@560 MP... what a peculiar price point! :?

I think it meant that the MS internal stats said that most people with Fable II has about 550 MP left on their account. :-)

Not sure how many hours I've put into Fable 2, but its certainly more than the 10 that seems to be the satisfactory average these days.

I don't much care about the hours though so long as its not taking the piss (which Fable 2 certainly isn't). Quality not quantity.

Whats the point in learning new tricks? My dog is dead!

And no - i'm not going to replay the whole game just to choose a different card at the end .. fuckers
  • ronuds #14 3 years ago

"Whats the point in learning new tricks? My dog is dead!"

    LOL!!!

Well, I'm not certain you'll enjoy this solution - but you could always buy Knothold Island to rectify that problem. :p
  • Agent_Llama #15 3 years ago

Ditto what Smelly said. My dog is gone. /sigh
  • Khanivor #16 3 years ago

Any game which your girlfriend is happy to just watch you play gets a thumbs up in my book. Any game that gets said girlfriend insisting you go shag everything that moves without protection is something extra special :)

Held off on the last DLC; this seems to offer a good bit more. All I need to know though, is will my doggie get brought back to life by purchasing it?
  • sneetch #17 3 years ago

    Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

More Fable II? Why yes, thank you, please.
  • miiiguel #18 3 years ago

    OMG!!!!!

    Yes!

(and other short words and acronyms to show awe)
  • mega7ech #19 3 years ago

    @sneetch

    Couldnt agree more! :)

More Fable 2 - and at 560 points! Brilliant! (imo)

    @miiiguel

I am led to believe that woot! is appropriate (and is actually an acronym of "Want One Of Those";)

I'm no expert on how kids speak on the streets these days though :)

Nice price for seemingly quite a bit of content. Very nice.
  • Britesparc Verified Creative, ITV #22 3 years ago

All of this sounds all kinds of excellent and I cannot wait.

@ smelly: you can do a quest to bring him back to life. Not sure what it is, as I chose the "the needs of the few", but my brother chose the "needs of the many", and managed to resurrect his dog a little bit later in the game.
  • ronuds #23 3 years ago

    @ Britesparc

Do you have the Knothole DLC? I thought that was the only way to bring your dog back?
  • RedSparrows #24 3 years ago

Crofto's biting sarcasm and wit strikes again.

    /yawn. Next.

+1 for whoever said 'my gf just gets happy watching' - my female housemates love watching me play. Although my gf just wants to play peggle ;(
  • Dizzy #25 3 years ago

Great... can't wait to go back to Albion.
  • ronuds #26 3 years ago

Rambo is an awesome name for a dog.

Well, it's pretty much an awesome name for any one or thing. :p

Dammit I really need to buy this game. It's all very well borrowing it off a mate but it's just not the same. :)
  • hiddenranbir #28 3 years ago

Town trapped within a snowglobe!! Wonderful!

    Awesome RPG!

    @smelly

Oh boohoo, finally a RPG that gives you choices with meaningful consequences. ;)

ahhh, Fable II. I finished the main story, and haven't gone back to it... I might have a trip back, just to see if i can still be bothered with it...

"Congratulations, you are now famous enough to use the 'kiss my arse' expression" is probably the best thing i've ever had a game tell me!!!
  • kangarootoo #30 3 years ago

I called my dog Dave, in homage to a dog I sort of adopted when I was travelling in the middle east years ago.

/hope he is still ok out there
/he isn't, as he would be at least 105 in dog years by now
    /sniff
