Scene It? Box Office Smash demo up

Buzz in with the right answer.

Microsoft has whipped a Scene It? Box Office Smash demo onto Xbox Live.

There's no mention of whether this sampler will work without the buzzer peripherals from the first game, but we assume using a Xbox 360 pad will be fine.

Box Office Smash is the Buzz!-alike sequel to Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action, which threw all sorts of film-related clips at players and then quizzed them about what they saw.

The sequel is bigger and better, and also has online multiplayer, downloadable content and support for those NXE avatars due to arrive on 19th November.

As for when Scene It? Box Office Smash will arrive: late November seems to be the retailer estimate. We'll let you know when Microsoft stamps an official date on the game.

Anyone any idea if there is to be a solus version? Have the first one and don't want a new set of buzzers.
The last one was quite good, it would have been good to have had downloadable content for it though. The rounds were pretty varied (although I hated the anagrams). That's been my main problem with PS3 Buzz, not enough variety in the rounds (but much broader question base).

    Me too....

The online support sounds good. One of the few times missus got realy into a game (maybe because she kept on wining). Have to buy it

Most sites have a solus available to pre-order for £20 or so.

The first one is part of the 2 for £30 deal in Currys at the moment.

Does it still have the really annoying US "host" - enjoyed the first game, wish he could have been turned off though. Although Jason Donovan gets tired pretty sharpish as well in Buzz.

i was playing this the other day - with the buzzers from the first game. The interface is completely changed as are most of the game types.

From what I saw of it - the demo was pretty short - it's a good improvement over the first. Didn't get to play online - not even sure the demo had online enabled. Also seems that it's going down the Buzz route of having characters for the players rather than nothing at all like the first game

Why oh why isn't there a general knowledge game out for the 360 which uses the wireless buzzers? Or anything other than Scene It for that matter?

No one in my family likes movies very much, so Scene It didn't go down very well last year. They all love Buzz though, and I hate having to exhume the PS2 from its grave, find the crappy wired buzzers, untangle them, then have everyone huddled round dead close because the wires don't go very far.

oh realy? great news..., that weirdo is very annoying, got to try that. I managed to do 950GS, I'm missing the anagrams and the Documentaries one.

No one in your family likes movies very much? WTF? I mean, each to their own, but WTF?

LazyDan: What about Wits and Wagers on XBLA. I do agree though.

I recently played the demo of teh first 'Scene It?' game. It obviously supported the pad, as otherwise it wouldn't be much good as a playable demo.

    I don't know - journalists, eh?

I whole heartedly agree, I don't think anybody in my family has been to the cinema in years, and although we all like watching the odd film on DVD or TV, we don't keep up with whats hot or not. Last years Scene It left us cold because we hadn't even heard of a some of the films, let alone know the answers to the questions about them, so we'd really love a general knowledge quiz more akin to Buzz as well. However it may well be a moot point though, seeing as I'm trying to convince my wife to let us get a PS3 for Christmas, and if we do I'll get a copy of Buzz as well.
