Errr??? A bit useless in this game isn't it? Not like the 3D engine will be amazing to look at. I would have preferred dev time going to something else here.

No split screen, but online multiplayer/coop. Hasn't this been announced already? I'm sure I've read that.

This should be great - I remember having more fun with this game than I did Quake 2.

There's also a rewind feature (like Prince of Persia) so you can warp back to pre-death if you so desire. Not that you'd need it.

Great news! Revenue from this should afford 3D Realms to buy up to two months worth of food for the hamsters that generate electricity for the 3D Realms workstations on their threadmills. Should put the release of Duke Nukem Forever back on thrack, those hamsters have been looking rather tired lately.

I want! I want! I want!

Nothing like 10 straight deathmatches of Duke Nukem 3D with mates at a LAN Party followed by an hour's break on the beach with some brewskies (that's my teenage years, that was) *sigh

Shoosting people with a shrink ray then stomping them = pure sweetness.

If this really does have 4 player splitscreen then it's gonna take the top spot on Friday night game sessions next to BoomBlox as there really isnt a decent splitscreen FPS available. Halo is great and all, but the framerate isnt really good enough in 4 player.

*I'm assuming this will run at 60fps at it isnt exactly graphically challenging..

It's actually still quite easy to get this to work on Vista if anyone has the original disc lying about. I've been having a blast with it recently.

http://vision.gel.ulaval.ca/~klein/duke3d/ - this is what I used Foo. Can't remember having that much trouble with it. You do need the original though (well, you can play the first episode for free without it - ahh, the good old days of shareware!)

The orginal had this feature as well, unfortunately you could press the 'K' key midgame if you were recording a match to see from your oponents perspective - a bit of a cheat some used during the Wireplay days.

Duke nukem 3D had the most depth out of any online FPS I've ever played because of the diverse weapons - looking forward to it!

Old 2d games age okay

early 3d games (like this one) look like shite nowadays - and next to impossible to play...
