Sam & Max S2E1 released

Demo available.

Telltale Games has released the first episode of Sam & Max: Season Two, Ice Station Santa, and of course there's a demo to go along with it.

You can buy it and grab the demo via Telltale's website.

As you may remember from Season One, episodes cost USD 8.95 a pop, or you can pay USD 34.95 for the full, in this case five-episode season.

According to Telltale's synopsis, Ice Station Santa sees Sam & Max (Freelance Police - do keep up) jetting off to the North Pole "to bring down a less-than-jolly foe".

"Can the Freelance Police make sense of this Christmas conundrum in time to save the world's children from a holiday tainted by tears, turmoil, and Torture-Me-Elmer? Find out in Ice Station Santa."

Our review should be up soonish. Presumably. We're so slack! Season One is available now as six individual episodes, one of which is now free, and you can buy a boxed version in the shops.

It is very good. Not quite as good as Reality 2.0 or Abe Lincoln Must Die, but good enough standard to hold hope that the whole season maintains the standards of the last season. Not too keen on the addition of the hints system, but it can be turned off completely if you don't wish to have one, and with it turned on I would assume it will ruin some of the more intuitive puzzles that pop up.

Somebody at Telltale put these darned things on XBLA please...

    andycroll:

Telltale have said many many times that they are working on it. They're also trying to get the episodes on PSN and possibly the Wii for download to. As far as I'm aware it's a matter of when rather than if for XBLA though.

Kazzahdrane: I've heard they are doing it, but it can't help to keep reiterating the demand every time as news story crops up.

So, Telltale, once again: Wii version now please, please, now, thankyou, now. Please?

Sam & Max is one of the very few reasons for me to fire up ye olde PC instead of playing WoW on the Mac. If they get released on PSN that will be one less reason to... ah, get around to it dammit!
