Sadness gets release date News

Wii News by Ellie Gibson

3 July, 2008

Nibris has finally locked down a release date for Wii-exclusive Sadness.

According to the game's website, the "planned delivery date" is now autumn 2009.

For those who aren't familiar, it's a survival horror game with a film noire feel. Nibris has taken inspiration from Planescape: Torment and Eternal Darkness, and the emphasis is on suspense and atmosphere rather than blood and guts.

Back in April, Nibris told Eurogamer it was looking for a publisher for Sadness - and there's still no word on whether a deal has yet been signed. Still. Autumn 2009 it is.

Shh, don't hype it. Hyped games = disappointment. Unhyped games = hidden gems (but also, unfortunately, poor sales).

If it's anything like Eternal Darkness it's a must buy for me.

Once I see an actual, y'know, game I might feel excited about this. Until then it's a big fat meh.

They're spending the remaining time to colour it in I'm guessing.

I've been looking forward to this since launch.

I *really* hope it doesn't suck.
