Rockstar fixing Midnight Club DLC News

Xbox 360 News by Robert Purchese

20 March, 2009

Rockstar is working to fix the South Central downloadable content for Xbox 360 owners of Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Due yesterday, the update was held back because of "an unforeseen bug". PS3 players had no such problems, and are happily whizzing through the South Central streets now.

"The Xbox 360 version of Midnight Club: Los Angeles South Central, set to release on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network [yesterday], has not yet gone live on Xbox Live due to an unforeseen bug in the title update," says Rockstar in a statement.

"We are currently working as quickly as we can to resolve this issue, and we will notify everyone as soon as the DLC is made available."

South Central adds new vehicles, parts and customisation tools, plus a map expansion that introduces four new neighbourhoods. The beefed-up premium version can be fetched for GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99 from the PS Store. The map expansion, however, is free.

God dammit!!

I played it for hours last night waiting for the update, I must say there were quite a few unhappy gamers online.

Fix up Rockstar!

This DLC was already delayed a week so what the heck was that for if the 360 version still had this "unforseen" bug? I seem to recall one of the early Burnout Paradise free DLC packs suffering from a similar delay on the 360 but not the PS3.

Has anyone else suffered from the road textures completely disappearing for the vast majority of the time since the patch they released agaes ago?

I cleared my cache & that got rid of it & the patch. Worked perfectly again. Downloaded the patch again to play online & the same thing happened. It makes it unplayable as you cant see the road or other cars. So I cleared the cache & patch again. Its now fine once again but I cant download & use this DLC without the patch. :S

Yes I have, I installed the game to the hard drive hoping it will make a difference.

Its no gamebreaker though.

I think it is as I cant actualy see the actual road. Or traffic. So im either going the wrong way, hitting other cars or driving straight into a railing I cant see because of the messed up graphics. Even half my car is usualy missing as a flat texture seems to be above where the actual floor is.

Its literaly impossible to win. & i cant instal it as I havent got enough HDD space thanks to XBLA games & TLAD. & MS can go fuck themselves if they think im willing to pay their prices for a HDD upgrade.

Oh it's not just me then. I went back to it last night, in preparation for the DLC, and at times there would be missing textures for around 5 seconds or more.

I thought I needed to reinstall or run from disc but it appears that Rockstar have cocked up.

This didn't happen when I first played it and I've only ever run it from hard disk, I'm at Idol rank so it's not like I've not put the time into it!

I think because it's on the 360, it has to pass a more severe test before being released. And unlike Sony there's more technies on the xbox test team. Go 360!

I haven't had any of the problems others are describing here. So while it doesn't sound like a completely isolated incident, it doesn't appear to be a universal bug,

@mykke669: don't make excuses for them. A practically finished version was leaked back in January so what they've been doing for the last two months... who knows?

All I know is that it's still not up!
