Rock Band to get Iron Maiden pack News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Oli Welsh

29 May, 2009

Rock Band and Rock Band 2 are to be graced with an Iron Maiden track pack the week after next (from 9th June), according to the Rock Band community 'zine and Kotaku.

12 tracks from the uncompromising leaders of what was once called the New Wave of British Heavy Metal will mix classic eighties album recordings with recent live performances from the Flight 666 tour film:

  • Aces High (live)
  • 2 Minutes to Midnight
  • The Trooper
  • Wasted Years
  • The Number of the Beast
  • Run to the Hills
  • Can I Play With Madness
  • The Clairvoyant
  • Powerslave
  • Fear of the Dark (live)
  • Hallowed Be Thy Name (live)
  • Iron Maiden (live)

Old school metal justice in abundance there. Your fingers and vocal chords will never be the same again.

Run to the Hills is back! The only down side to this is that I'll have to ditch the Number of the Beast cover I picked up a while back, but I can live with that. I don't think our drummer is going to be very happy though.

Say what you like about Iron Maiden, but their songs are pretty much perfect for rock band.

Can I play with madness? No, I bloody can't!

I want the Rock Band DLC for Guitar Hero, or if RB2 properly supported the GH drum kit I'd buy that instead. As it is I'm stuck between some rock and a hard place.

At least GH:Metallica will ease the pain - by introducing extreme double bass pedal shin and ankle pain!

I have the same problem with Guitar Hero not properly supporting the Rock band kit. Fortunately this has me missing out on much fewer songs. Unfortunately it means that I have to put up with the awful RB1 drum kit. When will they sort this out and have one decent kit for both platforms?

@Ashen-Shugar

May I recommend the following link for your high speed pedalling pleasure :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMGCT-J-_N0

Being able to heel-toe twin pedals in sequence is the hard thing (I am no bloody good at it myself), but getting the right technique pinned is the first building block.

The key thing to keep in mind is that if you are using heel-toe on twin pedals, you should be doing two beats on each pedal before switching to the other pedal (rather than hammering out alternate beats between pedals)... if that makes sense.

And eventually you will be able to do this sort of thing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKqtReTx1...

And as he mentions in the first vid, its not so much heel-toe as ballofthefoot-toe.

Iron Maiden deserve a full game of their own a-la Metallica (which is enormous fun btw) :)

"May I recommend the following link.."

You may. Thanks!

I can't watch videos at work but will check them out tonight and probably have a little cry if they show any signs of skill that I do not posess*.

*They will, as my drumming skills are about as developed as my giraffe juggling skills.

They will do, but then you will learn the skills and feel all happy. A good foot pedal technique is something that just creeps up on you with practice, and one day you find you can suddenly do speedy double beats on request :)

Rock Band DLC wins again, this is great, perfect fake plastic guitar fodder and vocal hell.

Althought GH:WT does have The Touch by Stan Bush to download tho and for that reason alone it was worth buying (oh and Beat It solo by Van Halen too)
