Rising Star picks Fragile for Europe News

Wii News by Robert Purchese

29 June, 2009

Rising Star Games plans to bring Fragile: Farewell Ruins of the Moon to Europe early next year.

The Wii-exclusive RPG will head to the US this winter, and has already been released in Japan, where Famitsu scored it 31/40.

Developer Tri-Crescendo (Eternal Sonata, Baten Kaitos) is at the helm, and pens a story about a boy whose world has suddenly had all its inhabitants mysteriously removed. He must explore, using his torch, metal detector and microphone to solve puzzles and uncover hidden enemies.

You'll be able to pick up items like sticks, crowbars and hatchets to swing around in motion-sensing Wiimote fashion.

Pop over to our Fragile gamepage for watch a couple of videos.

So tempted to buy this game. Seems like there's about a half dozen Wii games like this I have to pick up. (-_-)

Great news. This was one of those games that seemed destined to never come over here. Loving Rising Star at the moment.

It's amazing how the Wii, so criticised for being the 'casual' console for the mainstream, has managed to become the home for super-niche titles like this.

More so considering how it's so catastrophically failing to manage a great deal in between.

dammit - i'm gonna have to re-buy a wii aren't i? Between this, Monster Hunter and Muramasa the Wii's game list is going from strength to strength.

Even Another Code R is semi-tempting me...

@beemoh I wonder if these are the kinds of games a larger user base, and lower costs can allow, games like this are what made the PS2 game catalogue the finest since the SNES, but unlike the PS2 the Wii needs more gamers to get the console in order for that to happen. Still fingers crossed Project Zero 4 and others will follow and gamers will respond in kind by buying upon release.
