Rez HD coming to PlayStation Network?

Q Entertainment considering the options.

Q Entertainment is having a good hard think about whether to bring Rez HD to PlayStation Network.

That's according to the company's Twitter page, where the following message was posted: "What would a game like Rez HD sell for on PSN? $15? This is no indication that it's happening, but we're researching if its feasible."

Those who like the sound of that idea might want to register their interest as another message reads, "This isn't something we need to do, or will necessarily develop. I'm doing some informal polling to take back to our bizdev ppl."

Rez HD was released on Xbox Live back in January 2008, priced at £6.80. Like the PS2 original it was a hit with the critics, scoring 10/10 on Eurogamer. Read our review to find out what all the fuss is about.

Please say "YES!" business development type people

    OH GOD YES!

I still bung my PS2 disc into my PS3 for a blast occasionally, I'd love to have this with extra shiny visuals. (And there's no space for downloaded games on my 360's launch 20GB drive before anyone suggests that.)

Dreamcast original that should be. Magnificent game though, especially with the HD version.

While it would be great to see Rez HD on the PS3 I think it's important that anyone who is "informally polled" makes a point against the idea of a 50% price hike to bring the game to the PSN,

I honestly don't understand why some publishers/developers seem to believe that PS3 owners are not only okay with being left out in the first instance but are willing to pay more when it finally does come out.

    Yes please!

But agreed with Murton, it should be as close to the XBLA price as possible.

willing to pay more when it finally does come out.

I think I've read here on EG users saying 360 is for ppl who can't aford the classy PS3, so I'd say it's only fair (or be responsible for what you claim, take your pick).

I've tried the Xbox version and that was enough for me wanting to play it more. Definitely bring this to PSN, oh yes. :)

Bring it to PSN, but they can get fcuked if they think of charging more than the 360 price for it!

Still listen to the soundtrack all the time!

This would be a nice Arc game, the control scheme is like a light gun anyway - point at things on the screen, press fire.

Which leads me to ponder on how they could make a mint by doing it for the Wii.

(covers top of head in preparation for neg avalanche)
  • Doctor_What #11 2 years ago

That's a damn good idea, Fogheart.
  • Ryze #12 2 years ago

It'd be nice to see it there, but it's a bit late.

I'd expect that the sales would be poor due to the 360 release having taken place so long ago.

    @FogHeart:

    THAT's an idea!

SonyFanboys - go Twatter this guy with that suggestion. I'd rebuy this to play it with the wand/Arc thing.

    Great news for PS3 owners.

but at risk of getting a super negative score...This is a joke to follow.

Shouldn't this be called Rez nearly HD, due to 'stupid developers'... something is bound to go wrong.
  • Murton #15 2 years ago

miiiguel: anyone who makes such claims is a fool as is anyone who believes it is "fair" to be asked to pay up to 50% more for software that could have been released months ago on their chosen format.
  • Sonic_D #16 2 years ago

Rez on DC was great, Rez HD on XBLA was great and was priced right. $15 is too high, but I have to say that I reckon HD would be priced at 1200 MS points not 800 if it was released now.

    "Like the PS2 original..."

    No.

Who do we have to kill/payoff/plead with/grovel at to get this done?? Forever gutted that i never bought my friends copy when he part-ex'ed it (don't ask!)

    Rock is sponge FTW.
  • aphexstwin #20 2 years ago

i never could find a copy for ps2 of rez, but i had the first level on a demo and played it to death, im half deaf because i used to put on my headphones and turn the volume up enough to vibrate my vision. ahhh, the memories of playing a game the way its meant to be played....

but keep the price right, yes?
  • 3william56 #21 2 years ago

God, yes. Even (say it quietly) a sucksaxis tilt version would get fifteen of my bucks straight off.
Arc support? Pump the visuals? Demo grade Arc launch title right there.

But really - please take a long, long look at Flower guys. Flower's freedom of motion, plus Rez visuals and music is potential mind bomb. And that's before you get a dualshock down your pants for the Trance Vibrator version. :D

  • nasanu #23 2 years ago

    Yes please dizdev men :)
  • rufioh #24 2 years ago

Typically, I hear of this weeks after buying a 360 based almost purely on Rez HD! I love it so much I'd probably buy a PSN release if there were any additions at all.
Love the idea of a sequel in a Flower style.
