Retro Namco collections for Wii, DS

Hooray, more Pac-Man.

Atari has decided we all need some good old retro Namco games on Nintendo consoles.

The DS Namco Museum collection will arrive first in February, followed by Wii title Namco Museum Remix in March.

Quirky because it rethinks a few of the familiar faces from yesteryear. Take Pac 'n Roll Remix where you roll the yellow blob around words and obstacles while gobbling up pills for power-ups, or Galaga Remix that has you shooting down alien invaders to save Pac-Man for some unknown reason. Has four-player, too.

Or there's Pac-Motos where you use the Wiimote to roll into others and knock them off the edges of a map, and Rally-X Remix for up to four players. There's even a whack-an-alligator outing in Gator Panic Remix.

All of those are on top of untouched retro outings Galaxian, Dig Dug, Mappy, Xevious, Gaplus, Super Pac-Man, Pac & Pal, Pac-Mania and Cutie-Q.

Meanwhile, inside Namco Museum on DS are more faithful conversions, the best being Pac-Man VS. that four of you can play from one cartridge.

There's also Pac-Man, Galaga, Xevious, Dig Dug II, Galaxian, Mappy, and The Tower of Druaga. Plus you will get to choose between a traditional arcade view or one more suited to the DS.
