Wow, never heard of this before but it sounds absolutely fascinating. I'll definitely be checking this out after that review. Nice.

I got this and its pitched perfectly at people like us, the gamers who started in '80s. My addiction got off after dad got me (him too!) spectrum 48k for christmas.

This game is quite fun even though the game graphic (faked) is sooo old but perfect for it!

A very good game indeed, especially since the games manage to capture the look and feel of 8-bit classics but still to be gently forgiving in line with modern expectations from games. Playing Gradius Rebirth on Wii reminded me how brutally difficult those games could be back then, but Retro Game Challenge actually removes a lot of frustration while retaining the incentive to play skillfully. This is what I call good design.

Still no european release date or even an announcement. The only way to get it is to import it from here then. They also have the japanese version for slightly less, but it does probably require japanese language skills.

Shouldn't the review point out this is an import? I got excited that it had finally been released here, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

I picked this up in New York a few months back for $19, superb game.

Perfectly balanced in my opinion, retains the hardcore nature of many 'retro' games whilst offering a bit of flexibility/forgiveness that games back then were famously lacking.

The 'retro effect' is so well done that these actually feel like genuine 80s games, everything from the text to the graphics are brilliantly done.

This is out in the US for all those scratching your heads... and I implore you to buy it, it's tons of fun :)

(unless you want to wait for a possible European release)
