European one to start on Monday.

The beta for PS3 exclusive Resistance 2 begins in the US today.

That's according to the US PlayStation blog, which also reports it'll feature maps from three locations in the game.

European Resistance fans will have to wait till after the weekend to try the game out. Over here, the beta will run from Monday 20th October until Thursday 13th November. Keys will be given out via IGN, but it's not clear when.

It's not sour grapes. Sour grapes is knowing when the keys will be given out and then not managing to make it to the keys on time. What EG have done on two seperate occasions is not announce a key giveaway date or time and then the first you know about it is when you see the article saying 20000 keys are all gone!

I got my LBP key from the playstation network for instance because they actually told people when they were giving them away.

Is it me or are developers just putting out beta's for the sake of it these days?

Cod 5, Resistance 2....these games are only weeks off release, is a beta really gonna make so much difference now or would multiplayer demo be a more fitting name?

Play.com are giving beta keys away when you pre-order the game. If I recieve one on Monday, I'll put it in on the PS3, and cancel my pre-order, happy days!!

Monkey_Puncher: Totally agree with you. It's not really a beta, more of a PR thing now. It's getting annoying too.

Am I the only one who doesn't feel hyped for this at all? I mean maybe it's because of all the (hopefully) awesome games coming out at the same time, but this really isn't on my radar.

I hope I get a beta key.

And don't you also have a change to get a beta key via email? Everybody who signed up for beta few weeks ago can have a change to get a key, so check your emails.

I managed to get a key from IGN, but I havent tried it yet because the CL tonight was too enjoyable.
