Resident Evil 5 has Mercenaries
Famed RE4 arcade mode returns.
Capcom has confirmed, via its Capcom-Unity blog, that Resident Evil 5 has a Mercenaries mode.
Mercs first appeared in Resident Evil 4. Unlocked after you complete the main campaign, it's a score-attack arcade mode that swamps players in zombies and challenges them to kill as many as possible within a time limit. Simple, but brilliant.
Seems like nothing's changed. "You know the drill. You have to unlock it first, of course. Once you do, you jump in a never-ending swarm of baddies, and timed challenges test your true talent and skill in the game," says Capcom.
Resident Evil 5 is out in a week's time for PS3 and Xbox 360. Tons more at the Resident Evil 5 gamepage - and expect a review very soon.

I think I'm going to have to spend some time with Res 5, and make a genuine effort to familiarise myself with the controls. I feel that there's a great game to be had underneath those recockulous mechanics.

I wish people would stop being so negative about RE5 until the full game is released.
It is killing my anticipation for my GOTY.
If the game turns out to be crap. Fair enough but otherwise you can stick that crystal ball up your arse

So far my biggest disappointment with it has been the lack of a Merchant. Where did he go, damnit? He was RE4's best character!

Don't be so sure. Mercenaries had unlockable rewards in RE4 and a couple of the achievements involve stuff like "buying all the outfits in bonus features".

I dont believe Capcom has released dlc for any of their titles yet. Lost Planet: No, DMC4: No, Dead Rising: No.
I guess its not their thing. Instead of SFIV Dlc we get Super SFIV Turbo.

EDIT: dead rising also has DLC, but it's free. (costumes for frank).
EDIT2: and lost planet has a couple map packs as DLC, but I think they're all free now.
