Reminder: BioShock 2 out today

Worldwide release includes UK, Europe.

2K Games has released BioShock 2 to the world today. Yes, the UK and Europe included, even though it's not Friday.

The game's available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

These Tuesday releases are confusing.

Our review of BioShock 2 went up this morning. Skip to the end for the score. I mean read through to see what we thought.

    Reminder for a game release?

    Something smells rotten in the state of Eurogamer...

    Nopers, nothing rotten going on here. UK releases are normally on a Friday and, what with this not being Modern Warfare 2, we thought some people might be confused. It's that simple.

    yeah i got it this morning,if you liked the first then i am guessing you will like this as its pretty much the same but with different areas of Rapture(not that that is a bad thing)

    there are 128 audio diaries,but you only need 100 for the achievement prolly because i heard there is no going back to previous places like you could in the first game


    i am interested in trying the multiplayer(i wasn't before today)..as the maps are from the first game(Arcadia or Fort Frolic)..but only 2-10 people in a room :(

    I wish more developers did this. I hate when i miss one or two. Im looking at you Crackdown i miss 1 agility orb and 2 hidden orbs. Seems impossible to find.

    Yea picked it up earlier. Just waiting for it to get dark enough to play on my big TV. I hate reflections on the screen and I've got a samsung high contrast but, glossy screenage TV!

    Tuesday releases are pretty standard in stores around here, they don't give a flying f about the official date.

    Like it should, screw games lying in a dungeon waiting to be bought by me anyway.

    Zavvi sent my rapture edition a day early. I was online this morning at 4am (insomnia is my curse) and unsurprisingly there wasn't a soul on there. I'll give it another go tonight, but I think the MP will be a total bust. Sorry 2K.

    I am enjoying the game so far, its very much more of the same, the start of the game wasnt as superb as the first unfortunately (guess it will be difficult to top that, but they could have had a boat being hit and sinking)..

    With regards to trophies, i wish more game companies would be alittle more supportive of the non hardcore player in designing them, as alot of the times it seems,they decide " lets make them nearly impossible as this will prevent people trading the game in" mentality. This certainly isnt the case, it just means people give up because they find its just too hard (wipeout, playing games through on crushing mode etc etc, not being able to access a place to collect a trophy cause you miss it - FO3 - Zeta DLC). While games like AC2 were very much more about just playing the game etc.

    Its good to hear someone had some common sense with the tape recordings, In Bioshock 1 I missed one tape before moving onto the next section, and will have to replay the whole game because you cannot go back...

    without a glitch, impressed so far, and was happy with the opening to the game had a lots more soul and meaning than the last one, not all big explosions and special effects, lets just hope the muti-players good cause not got round to it yet, and not a single cue in game like, the blumming 2 hour ones for MW2 which is probs gonna dust away untill some DLC in spring lol :D

    On topic though, i gave up on Bioshock at the bit where your plasmid's go crazy and keep randomly changing. I admit i haven't see much for the 2nd game, but none of the reviews i've read have really made me think 'wow, i must play it'.

    Saying that, i am going to rent it once the Bad Co 2 beta ends and i get through ME2

    Umm, there's advertising on the site so what's the big deal about Eurogamer reminding us that it's out? If they gave it 10 out of 10 then you can all moan about conspiracies but the score is evident that there, well, isn't any conspiracy or anything rotten in the state of Eurogamer... at all! Twats!

    Virgin do, they even do 50mb lines too! I think you may have to be in an area that has fibre optic lines installed though.

    EDIT: haha, I just noticed the original poster said 20gb! D'oh, disregard the bit where I thought I was being helpful!

    The people who think EG are advertising the game or something really need to get their heads checked. This is a gaming site. Bioshock 2 is a big release. Games are usually released on a Friday. There, if people still aren't getting it, I'm sure someone else could dumb it down for you a little more.

    I could understand reminding us if the game was being released on a Saturday. It would save a trip for anyone going for it on a friday like normal from being disappointed.

    But guess what, yes, the game is released on Wednesday, but you will still be able to buy it on Friday even if you didn't know. Idiotic waste of news column.

    Rented this from Blockbusters today. Gotta say am very impressed. Much of the same (as the first one) but it definately draws you into Rapture again. 2K Games really know how to tell a story. Solid 8/10 thus far.

    Didn't even get that far. I think i've only ever played 10 mins of the 2nd one and gave up. Never been into that series of games, which is a shame as the story aspects appeal to me, just not the rest of it.

    The plasmids were my least favourate game mechanic, so i guess it tipped me over the edge!

    The reminder was only because the games was released on a Tuesday, games are rarely (never?) released on Tuesday so we get a heads up by EG. No consipracy.

    Releasing a game on a Tuesday just feels wrong. You can’t beat a Friday release with an all weekend play through.

    Well, most other games still come out on Friday.

    I think it's nice, I hadn't realised it was out today either. It's largely irrelevant to me as my copy is in the hands of the Royal Mail at the moment.
