Red Faction Syfy film for March 2011
Transmedia deal "blazing trails", says THQ.
THQ and American television network Syfy have announced that a two hour Red Faction live action movie pilot will air in March 2011.
Dubbed Red Faction: Origins, this follows Alec Mason's son Jake as he tries to find his kidnapped sister and avenge the death of his murdered mother.
Events take place 25 years after Red Faction: Guerrilla and before the sequel, Red Faction: Armageddon.
Writer Andrew Kreisberg (Warehouse 13, Fringe, Vampire Diaries and Boston Legal) handled the screenplay, adapting a story by Paul DeMeo (The Rocketeer, Flash, Viper, The Sentinel).
Presumably if the pilot does well then we could see an entire series. Or perhaps a feature film.
Red Faction: Armageddon will be released in March 2011. Look, down there: a video!

It will probably pull a Dr Who and be filmed exclusively in a quarry that has been painted red.

We're about to see exactly why people such as Valve and Bioware are a little more cautious about handing out movie rights, people.

It'll be shit, then. They can't even spell their genre right!

SyFy has had a few okay movies, hope this is good and not too much sucky CG like they so often have in their movies.

I think SyFy should just become the Galactica channel. I know I'd watch it all the time.
