Hey, EA - Since you're free, how about sorting out this nonsense between you and Steam in the UK ?

Red Alert 1 was the only decent Red Alert.

The others are crap, gone all cartoony and gay.

That's plainly wrong, because Red Alert 2 is the best C&C game ever.

EA needs to forget about the EA downloader / EA Link / EA store crap. Make uprising a retail purchase aswell as a download one and support full Steam integration.

That would secure RA3s future. It really is an awesome game.

DoctorZoidberg: Word. It's exactly how I feel. I loved C&C & RA games but ever since EA tore the heart out of westwood's chest, there hasn't been anything of interest coming from that side imo.

If they want to sell, they should start by, a) dropping the SecuROM crap and b) stop releasing games with incomplete LAN support.

No LAN coop for RA3 (plus SecuShit) was the reason I didn't buy it.

I was kinda hoping it had. Red alert 3 was just... Boring somehow. I can't even put my finger on it. It's like someone came along and replaced Westwood with souless automatons, Stepford Wives style, and then told them to imitate their human predecessors.

In fact, I think that's more or less what happened.

Out of sheer curiosity, what is your best RTS game? Or what do you think is better than RA2? (I haven't played any RAs bar the third one, so don't think I'm trying to initiate an argument)

If only they'd not bothered mushing up the game to "work" on a console, Red Alert 3 could have been great.

I know that EA love releasing on all SKUs, but if they can't maintain the quality, I'd rather they release different games on PC than on console.

Some games work great as cross-platform titles. Red Alert really doesn't. Look at what Firaxis did with Civilization Revolution to see how to convert a great PC strategy game into a great console strategy game.
