Red Alert 3 sub-game for PSN/XBLA

Commander's Challenge due this autumn.

Electronic Arts has announced plans to release Command & Conquer Red Alert 3: Commander's Challenge for PSN and Xbox Live Arcade this autumn.

If the name rings a bell, that's because Commander's Challenge was one aspect of the PC-only downloadable Uprising expansion released in March to middling reviews.

The downloadable console version does not require the original Red Alert 3 to play, but still pits you against 50 unique scenarios in actual Red Alert 3 gameplay. Each challenge sees you face one of nine commanders - including one played by former wrestler Ric Flair. Yes, that also means silly live-action cut-scenes (phew).

Commander's Challenge is set to cost 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80 / €9.60) on Xbox Live and $9.99 on the PlayStation Store when it comes out later this year.
