Ratchet & Clank return on PS3 this year
A Crack in Time due this autumn.
Sony has announced that the next full PS3 Ratchet & Clank game will be on shop shelves this autumn.
It's called A Crack in Time, for some reason, and follows Ratchet on his mission to rescue Clank from Dr. Nefarious. Along the way, the titular heroes will discover their true origins and so reveal their destinies.
Series developer Insomniac (also of Resistance 2 fame) is adding spaceship battles and navigation this time, plus the usual refreshed assortment of bonkers weaponry.
All that plus laughs aplenty and top-notch visuals that don't look too far off an animated film, if previous PS3 releases Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty are anything to go by.
Also, if they are, then we should be in for a treat. Pop over to our Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty reviews to find out why.

Not all that revolutionary any more, but still out and out one of the most enjoyable franchises around.
If its anywhere near as good as the other main story games in the series then I am looking forward to playing this already.

Lol, I think they're a bit busy with Drake's Fortune 2. I love a bit of R&C though - should be good...

R&C Tools of Destruction started off well and then went decidedly meh for the vast majority of the game. The PSN effort was meh and short. Resistance 2 was totally meh. Insomniac needs to stop rushing stuff out every year and spend more time on making something truly spectacular like their old days.
I just wish someone could make a platformer of (near) Super Mario Galaxy calibur but on the HD consoles. I was banking on Rare but they totally pissed away that opportunity with BK:N&B.
