The review pretty much summed up my fears. I think it's like letting someone play only one section of ToD and then taking the controller away from them. Still undecided whether to get it because I enjoyed ToD.

My questions are:
Does it have skill points to achieve? Does it have a "game+" mode? (you, know, when you complete it and play through it again with bolt multiplier etc... cant remember what isoniac call it...) for me these two being included in the game will stretch the hours out on it, making it feel even more value for money. oh and also, the Blue ray version when it comes out in september - will that be like GT5P and require to be installed? as the only reason i'd wait for that is because im seriously running out of HDD on my 60GB PS3, and cannot afford to go and buy & install a 250GB in it yet :D |

I like the look of this. I have no problems with short games, however they must be priced accordingly. Saying that other games were overpriced too doesn't justify it.
£8 for this, based on what I've taken from the review, would be a must buy for me. |

£10 for a couple of hours play and no reason to play it again seems like a rip off.
But you quite happily go to the pub for a few hours and have 4 pints which in turn ends up getting pissed down the toilet? £10 is a bargain for the effort that went into it. It's not like it's another simple 2D arcade shoot 'em up, etc. |

For those who missed it...
"At GBP 9.99 it's probably worth it for a couple of evenings of entertainment" Length was not Tom's only complaint. Lack of weapons and only one significant alteration to the formula probably hurt that score a little too. Still, 7/10 is still pretty good, and for fans of the series this is surely worth a pop? @andromeda Yes. Because platformers are just brimming with original, cutting-edge character designs. |

Yes, lots of people seem to say that Tools of Destruction is a far better introduction to the series, not to mention game, than this one.

The 'proper' sequel is a game that's got nothing to do with the earlier one but got the Banjo tag nevertheless to lure in the fans (= UK gaming press) because Rare can't make proper games... |

Played through the Hoolafar part yesterday and I must say I enjoyed it thoroughly. Maybe even more so than Tools of Destruction. I guess it's the focus more towards platforming and exploration and puzzles that does it for me. I've always preferred those sections in earlier games (as opposed to the gun-heavy ones that is) and Quest for Booty seems to offer a lot of them.
The shortness is somewhat disappointing, but for a downloadable PSN game it's simply awesome. Beautiful graphics and I love the storytelling, with the Pirate map and all. I'd lean more towards an 8 out of 10 but then I haven't finished it yet. We'll see how blue my balls are when that time comes. |
