PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3
News by Tom Bramwell

5 February, 2008

Tom Clancy's latest royalty cheque is due to start counting upward on 21st March, according to Ubisoft's latest release schedule.

That's when you, me and anyone else with a few quid to burn will be able to hurry down to the shops and pick up Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on PC, PS3 or 360.

Vegas 2 promises more co-op, tactical and online options than the first game, along with a new campaign.

Ubisoft released shots and details at the end of December.

What's more, Eurogamer TV has a developer diary and one, two, three trailers to whet your appetite.

Or you could read our Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas review to see why you should be excited.

Is this another £40 "expansion" pack then like GRAW 2? :P

Pretty much. Still, if it's as good as the other one I'll be happy. :)

Vegas 1 was November 2006. Long enough?

Split screen co-op, again, makes this a must buy, unless they completely break it...

This series has been a bit patchy in the past, so fingers crossed they don't mess this one up because I loved the last one.

I hope you get some more tactical abilities in this one, and maybe a tad more realism.

Kind of wish this wasn't a straight Vegas sequel, i know they're putting in some different environments but i was bored of the Casino's by halfway through the first game so the idea of even more Vegas doesn't appeal much.

Still, that aside it was a great game and hopefully this one will be too.

I agree with Darren. Ubisoft are cheeky fuckers with this sort of thing these days, and the worst thing is no-one seems to mind.

Does no-one remember when they used to release these expansion packs at budget price, a la Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike or Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow...?

I was the opposite. Too many sewer / mexico / damn levels. I bought R6 Vegas - I want Vegas.

If its as good as Vegas its a day one sale for me. But I am also worried how there has been not much news/previews of it. Come on some one do a hands on so we know they havent screwed it up.

(PC version)

Just a glorified expansion pack for a game that wasn't that great to begin with. At least they're going on a slightly better track with the Ghost Recon series given GRINs last effort which was pretty good.

Who thinks this is going to be like GRAW 2 and less a full game, more an extended mission pack that's just more of the same?

EDIT: I wish I'd bothered to read the other comments. Feelings mutual across the board it would seem.

Ubisoft tend to stagger development cycles, so work on the sequel begins part way through the dev of the previous title. Not sure if that is the case here, I know it is with Splinter Cell.
