How much is it?

The original multiplayer was excellent.

Do you know if they are any multiplayer missions where you can be the Vietcong?

Also it looked fine on my PC with an old GF3 at 1024*768 - surprised that it has problems with a GF4.

Seems to be a tendency for PC FPS games to be massive system hogs, slowing down even the most l337 of gaming PC rigs, yet they still have the same old PIII 700mhz, 128/256MB and 32MB graphics card "minimum" requirements.

Surely no one expects to run these games at anything less than 800x600 resolution these days, and arguably you're seriously missing out if you can't turn all the graphical niceties on.

I know you often get "recommended" specs alongside the minimum ones, but it'd be nice if they'd be a bit more honest in what you really need to play the games as the developers intended, rather than just trying to capture the widest possible audience.

I think it'll be around the £15 mark, depending on the retailer of course.

I've no idea if they've changed anything about its requirements but I played the original on an 1800XP with a GF3 and had no problems with performance.

A new co-op mode would be nice as the "kill them all" mode that was in the original game could do with a bit of a shake up, the AI could be a real bitch!

Vietcong was my favourite game last year. It was tricky and a bit rough around the edges but at least you got a sense of accomplishment when you completed a mission, not something you get a lot of in most PC FPS games these days.

Just ordered it from play - they are selling it for £12.99.
The RRP is £15.
Also available is Vietcong:Purple Haze which is the original game with the expansion pack for £30.

Would you care to expand on the "all-new" co-op mode? How does it differ from the existing modes?

Cool, I've been looking forward to this 1. Don't normally enjoy FPS, but this was a really refreshing well made game.

Slightly tricky, had me cursing and swearing a fair bit though

They've already released the map editor and SDK, I believe. I found the AI, in coop at least, to be one of the best I'd come across in a game, so a new mode is very interesting.

Been looking forward to this, though I do wonder if they've changed the system specs. It's a shame they don't seem to have updated the 'stealth' aspects though - that bloody POW rescue in the original was dire.

I think my rig should be able to more than cope...1 GB memory enough?

I don't have these kinds of issues on other FPSs, it just doesn't seem especially optimised - some bits are fine, others a chugathon.

Well worth downloading the Demo to have a go on an MP game.

The new Bridge level is excellent and the idiot count on the MP games is generally very low.

Couldn't make the damn thing work. I could start it up, but I couldn't get anywhere past the title screen. Impossible to shut down as well.
