Call me a big casual gaming sap, but I really quite like The Sims. Might pick this up sometime soon....

I walled up my sim in a house of death, with no furniture, no door (obviously) - infact nothing.

He fouled himself, and was generally unhappy. Which please me greatly.

Yes, I petitioned MAxis for a 'The sims - Torture/Execution' expansion pack. It would have included a rack, thumb screws, gallows, Axe execution, poison injections etc etc.

Sadly, they ignored my petition.

Still, no option to download extra skins? So no way to have celebrity Sims? No locking Matthew Kelly in a house full of kids? Awww.

Hmmmm glad to see this getting a positive review for once...
I too do the errol thing, there's just something about having a garden full of gravestones (just call me patrick bateman)

I'm kinder though, I usually stick the black and white telly in with them so they can't even sleep!

"In some cases it's like holding a magnet to a compass, but in others it's more of a piss on the floor, watch porn and sleep all day situation."

For all multi-format console owners it seems that an enhanced version of this will also be out for XBox and Gamecube.

Do you mean really enhanced or enhanced as EA uses to 'enhance' ports?

See the news article on here yesterday. They mean the 'direct port from the PS2' version of 'enhanced'.

..actually it ain't bad. There are a few things missing (er, second storeys on houses f'r instance? Swimming pools have to be a set shape...and needless to say the multiple bits and bobs found in some of the PC add-ons aren't here, well quelle frickin' surprise!) but the user interface, controls and rotational graphics work surprisingly well. Eventually you find that you are doing exactly the same things in this version as you did in the PC version...(well, aside from going upstairs of course!)

The mission based game sucks, the two player mode is incredibly frustrating (there is no way to stop someone doing something once they've started it...so if you desperately need the loo and your co-player is already there, well you're just going to piss your pants!) - But lo, it's a pretty miraculous conversion..

One thing though, it sounds like it's brutally murdering my PS2's drive...! I've never heard the DVD drive sound quite as bad as it does in this, there's almost constant access...
