So, Mugtum, is it worth getting this for the new party games alone? As someone who's not going to get much joy out of the main game...

And are *all* the party/mini-games locked at the outset, or just some?

Before reading this, I was inclined to stick with the first one, having read this, I'm basically a pushover for it. Just hoping dvdcrave are stocking it...

edit - dvdcrave currently out of stock - augghhh!!

"The 6 partygames from SuperMonkeyBall are unlocked from the get-go. The others you have to unlock one by one .. 2500 playpoints needed for each."

That's right. Otto, I doubt you'll get very far unlocking things through traditional means, but if you've got an Action Replay (which I recall you have), there's bound to be a code soon which unlocks everything - that'll be your window. Otherwise, you only have the six original games unlocked at the start.

Hang on, I'm not *that* bad!!! >:p

Heh, I did manage to unlock the buggers on the first one! (eventually!)

I'm a monkey bowling nut, don't like what I hear about the revisions, but then - there's nothing to stop me playing the FIRST monkey bowling if own both, is there? :)

I've managed 220 at real bowling, but have been pretty poor at all the SMB party games. They have proved popular with mates though. :o)

I'd have you all at Monkey Target. I can land on a five pence piece into the wind, and a pound note with the wind at my back.

Now there's there's a group activity I'd be up for on the EG meet! How about it?

edit: Obviously, i meant bowling, not monkey target.. I'm sure there's some sort of law against that sort of thing....

challenge accepted. I'll dig out my high scores over the weekend and post them. My old flatmate & I had some mean competition going for 15 flights.... even with the hazards turned on.

The question is can you land on the 500s, nothing else will do.

Isn't the 500 the one that's about the same size as Ireland? I laugh at trivially sized landing zones.

BTW, how does the monkey get back to the start of the ramp?

the odd 1500 does tend to upset your opponent.

a very long monkey golf shot?

myself and a bandmate spent months racking up our bowling scores. we fecked off on tour and a friend of my brothers decimated all our scores in days. still not managed to wipe him off the scoreboard.

grrr.

Otto. To get back to a question you asked earlier - you can always just get your save to a point where you can unlock one locked party game, then keep a backup of that save and just take the card out whenever you want to try a new game - if it can't save the choice you make then you can always just make a different one next time you load the game.

You were able to practice the levels in the first game. Once you try the level at least once they were unlocked in the practice mode and you could try them again and again until you found a good way to complete it.

Hmmm…I found the first game a rather shallow experience. It’s the kind of thing I’d prefer to rent for a few days...but then I haven’t got a Gamecube so that could be pretty pointless.
To be honest, I’d choose MARBLE MADNESS over this. Or maybe REAL marbles...they’re pretty fun if you put them in people’s sandwiches.

That’s almost as good as one of the ‘no no’ retaliations in the 'Monkey Island 2' sword fight.

Let me guess…next it’ll be “Ohhh, I’m shaking” or “I am rubber, you are glue”.

I love you really Vermin.

No, I do like the game (I think). Unfortunately, it arrived from the EG shop in a smashed box and, although the disc seems ok, it 'freezes' frequently... :(
