Not surprising, really, struck me that SEGA were starting to flog the brand a little too much; whilst the first two titles (and the original coin-op) were classic games that deserved their plaudits, this seems to be a perfect example of shoe-horning if ever I saw one.

Shame. :(

Have Traveller's Tales ever made a good game apart from Lego Star Wars? Was that a fluke?

Not too surprised, unfortunately.

Banana Blitz on the Wii may turn out to be good, but I really think they should let the series die now.

Don't let it die, but don't rely on the exact same mechanics and merely a change of decor.

Oh and don't try to make a believable adventure game out of a monkey in a plastic ball. I have no idea how that even passed the "you're kidding..right!?" phase of idea hatching.

I think there's plenty of stuff you can do with MB as a party game. More levels, more mini games, different control methods, etc etc. I don't think it ever needs to go away, but I think it'll have its successful and not-so-successful stabs at becoming something different.

smb adventure could so easily have worked. I'm actually fairly surprised that it hasn't. Edge gave this a 4 btw

I couldnt think of a more glowing reason TO buy a game than having edge give it a low score.

The first one got a 9 from Edge, and deserved it too. Loved that game so much...

I might still get this for the minigames, but not at current GC prices.

I just tend not to listen to anything they have to say, they're only interested in technical achievements.

If this had an infinite vector engine in it, they'd be creaming themselves.

Smelly, how does that explain a 9 for the first game and 8 for the second?

Edge gave SMB1 a 9, and its sequel an 8.

High scores for a magazine that is supposedly only interested in technical achievements.

played it.. The review is accurate.
The adventure parts just boring.
The mini games are reasonable for short burst nothing special.
The only good bit is the challenge mode.
my score 5/10

"I meant in a "let's make infinit spinoff's untill nobody buy's it ever again" way."

Most Mario spinoff games have been pretty damn good, and you're typin suck.

Just got this game recently, how could anyone have anything bad to say about it? It's so sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet *goes all fluffy & cuddles the box*

Trollbait perhaps, but i'm loving it. The adventure mode's so much more satisfying using rolling & bouncing to actually do useful tasks, than "yet more minigames" which is what everyone seems to constantly wet themselves over.

Cube version runs smoothly and feels great to play with the controller, and the detail is way better than any of the so-called "stylish" Banana Blitz graphics.
