A bit like the Xbox version, but without the good bits.

Mmm-hmm. Much as I expected then. Look out for this soon, in a bargain bin near you!

The PC version was quite a laugh, but not exactly one of the greatest games I've played in recent years. Cutting out the multiplayer is pretty inexcusable. Probably best to go and get TimeSplitters 2 if you want a PS2 shooter instead.

look what they had to work with :P

(I mean, had they made a port of wolf3d it would have been zillions of more fun)

disc, don't know about the PS2 version but with the XBox version you get a port of Wolf3d to play after you complete the single player missions.

The muppets should have licensed the tech that powered Q3 on PS2 then. ID must have had some say in it - a rushed port impacts more on ID's reputation than Activision.

Microsoft's Ace shows again with it's PC-lite Xbox development kit.

Sony have a real problem tackling that issue on it's PS3 but rumour is a RenderWare Dev. Kit will be available from the start to ease those first tender steps. Shame that Q3 engine couldn't be licenced like Naughty Dog did for Ratchet & Clank. :(

gibbon:

it's not quite as drastic, but it's like saying that Half-Life should work on the same spec PCs as Quake - after all, HL used the Quake engine. The amount of modification that Grey Matter applied to the Q3 engine for RtCW wasn't quite as extensive, but it still upped the ante somewhat in the specs department.

The PS2 must be gutted, As developers learn how to use the Xbox a bit better all PS2 games are looking so much more worse than the Xbox counterpart. PS2 better start saving for its retirement because it is likely to come sooner rather then later.

its no masterpiece but I think its OK for a bit of mindless distraction if you get it cheap. The reviews are so bad that I was pleasnalty surprised, although I would have been gutted if i'd paid full price for it - alright second hand for a tenner though
