The thing is, they have given some generally popular games, less good scores. By that, people automatically think that EG is biased, when in fact, they might have a diffrent view on this. Xbox fanboys should be HAPPY that I'm not a Xbox reviewer on EG...I show no mercy towards games I don't like, I have for instance given Wreckless 2/10 at the site I write.

Sure, they have given some games for GC, scores that I find it hard to understand, but you don't see me go around crying about it. Why...well it MIGHT have to do with something that I know that we can't all agree on what certain games are like. So some games I like have gotten scores I don't agree on, I don't really mind, I know what I think of the games...then what other people think doesn't really matter to me unless I'm going to buy a specific game.

We all have diffrent values, some people consider Halo to be the greatest game ever, I want to have them comitted. I think that NHL Hitz is one of the best game on the Xbox, some people want me comitted. Get off it, you don't have to validate your purchase by attacking people with diffent opinions.

Skal, while I agree with most of what you say, it's slightly different if I say I like this game to EG saying they like it.

Reviews are meant to give an objective view on a game so that readers can make an informed purchasing decision.

"eurogamer gives xbox halo a 8/10"

Oh god, here we go again. STOP FIXATING ON THE SCORES. The two different games in two different genres were reviewed by two different reviewers on two different consoles. All the relative scores mean is that Tom liked Rogue Leader more than I liked Halo. Read the review and make up your own mind instead of skipping straight to the score and assuming that it has some kind of mystical significance. It doesn't. It's just there as a rough pointer as to what the reviewer thought of the game.

"They can't be biased towards EVERYBODY"

Of course we can. :)

And I'd like to think that our reviews do that, as long as you don't just skip straight to the score at the end. ;)

As much as I like a site and/or it's writers I would never buy a game based on one review. One of the best things about the www is the ability to get various opinions in a short amount of time

Well, a reviewer can only say what he/she thinks of the game, a reader should be aware of this when reading a review. We all have very diffrent tastes, and noone can please everyone. I suggest that people who need to buy a game should read multiple reviews, if they see a pattern of similar reviews, that might be a good indication.

There are always people who are diffrent, I get alot of buff because of my disliking of some Xbox games, and a few days ago I saw someone that gave Shadowman 2 90/100.

Best Star Wars game ever: TIE Fighter. Recently dug it out again and fuffed about with Win2k until I got it to work.

Jesus Christ is it harder than I remember.

I've played Rogue Leader for a good few hours round a mate's house (NTSC version). While I was generally unimpressed by the gameplay, everyone else there was lapping it up. So, if you haven't been spoiled by TIE Fighter, you'll probably love it.

Tie Fighter was great. I really loved how they managed to get rid of that "bad guy" label, you really where fighting on the RIGHT side of the conflict, just like you did in X-Wing. Both those games are some of the best for PC, I'd still play X-Wing if I can get my soundcard to feed me some sound, and the challenge is just...overwhelming at times.

Course they are biased. Biased towards Starwars Games that'll let you play one of the best movies ever released!
If you don't like the scores/reviews, go buy an official Xbox or PS2 mag where they are biased towards their own platform...
Or better yet, go read a different website, and leave these boards free for the people who want to discuss the actual games rather than bashing platforms.

I saw the original trilogy back to back in the cinema back in the '80s that was enough of a bum numbing experience. 5 movies might be a bit too much, especially as Episode II is 2 hours 22 minutes apparently.

Don't get your hopes up for the IMAX thinking you'll get a huge screen, as when showing 35mm film (all normal films), it only takes up about 1/3 of the height and 1/2 of the width of the screen, still big, but nowhere near as big as a proper IMAX film. Thrust me, I saw Terminator when they had a classic films season of films late at night

Not surprised with all those gas guzzling AT-ATs stomping around the place. Imagine the pollution those things must cause. ;)

"I'm the guy who didn't even see episode 1 yet"

To be honest you're not missing much.

"The day that Alien 4 went up at the movies in Sweden, I warmed up with watching all the three first ones back to back"

I did an Aliens all-nighter in London a few months back - all four movies back-to-back, with free Red Bull and Ben & Jerry's during the intermissions. Didn't end until about 7am. I tell you, there's nothing freakier than walking around central London at 7 o'clock on Sunday morning. It's like being in The Omega Man or something. ;)

"Friends and I once went to see 4 ST films back to back"

I can vaguely remember doing the original Star Wars trilogy back-to-back at a little local cinema when I was a kid. It must've been back in the mid 1980s when Return of the Jedi was still fairly new, so I was probably seven or eight at the time.

Same in every city, but I'd imagine that it's even more noticeable in London, Uddevalla really doesn't compare to be honest.

I did an all night Comic theme night at a cinema in Kings Cross in the mid/late 80's. Saw Akira there for the first time and swear I have never seen the same version again (this was before it came out on video over here). They also showed The Punisher, Captain America and some other bits I can't remember. My two lasting memories of the night are dragging my mum along (as I was to young to go alone)and having her really enjoy Akira (I was so proud) and the other was having the entire place erupt into cheering and applause when Captain America throw his shield for the first time.
