Sometimes I'd like to be a games reviewer just so I could come up with really obscure and amusing quotes for the screenshots. And the opening blurb, of course.

Aha. Hm. Thought the demo was a bit boring, tbh. anyway: popcorn! If you want to see me go mad and become violent, peaceful bloke that I usually am, just dare to eat popcorn when you sit next to me in the movie theatre.

Yay Romans.

Centurian...I'm thinking. No, I can't do that joke AGAIN.

Er, Quale, that comment obviously referred to the real-time battles of M:TW, not the turn-based mode, don't you think? And the AI of M:TW is quite capable in the battles actually.

Quale: Praetorians is a real-time strategy game, my comment was directed at the fact that it's the closest any RTS title has ever come to emulating the huge, epic battles in Medieval:TW. This gives you a chance to get down to battlefield level without going through the strategic turn-based game, and is altogether more "lightweight" than Medieval:TW was, so I think it's a fair comment.

Regarding the cheaty nature of the AI and so on in Medieval - people noticed this, but not everyone considered it a massive flaw of the game. It didn't really bother me that much to be honest - although yes, I was very very annoyed at the lack of strategic multiplayer, since I actually wanted to play that in multiplayer more than I wanted to play the battle sections!

If you want to see TRULY awful strategic AI, though, take a look at Master of Orion 3... I think the EG review of that is going up today. It has the most hilariously rubbish AI I've ever seen.
