can anybody be so kind as to comment how the PAL PS2 conversion of Sands of Time is? wife got me it as a christmas present and not currently have my PS2 on me :P

Fantastic game! The only two things I don't like - there's one obvious path through every room and the control system "helps" a little too much by automating things. Best example - it's almost impossible to fall from pillars or swing-poles as it lines up the jumps for you! You don't have any say on how far to jump or the exact angle, so there's almost no skill in it...

Oh and it was 15 quid in PC World including the free joypad! Bargain! I think the deal might end today in fact (although not certain)

I own the PS2 version and although I havn't seen any of the other ports, there doesn't seem to be any obvious issues with it.

Appart from that, I find it very linear, in a way I've never experienced with Zelda, Mario Sunshine, Metroid or other games of late. It's also seems very short. I've played for 4 hours and already the progress meter says 50% finished. Scary. I also find both battles and acrobatics very repetitative. I'll probably sell this game back to the store in a day or so and buy FFTA instead.
