oh there'll be more, Motorstorm 2, Motorstorm 3, Motorstorm 4 etc etc. The series will gradually change up until they get to Motorstorm 4 when they'll realise that actually the first one was the best and change everything to be more similar to that but with better graphics.
edit: yes, lets compare a PS3 driving game to a 360 licensed platform fighting thing thats clearly rubbish, thats a fair comparison, definately. PS, it's called MOTORSTORM.

Ah, right. Because THIS one is positive. /Trolling because I've almost finished work. Being brutally honest, Motorstorm was the first game to make me kick my 360 and say "Oi! You! Look, steal, create then gimme." I can now add LittleBigPlanet to that list. If Sony can keep pumping out quality titles based on new IP like Motorstorm, then Microsoft will have to up their game or flounder like a frolicking furby at a funfair (my alliteration skills are waning this afternoon). Win-win, to be honest. |

I find it odd that little over 12 months ago, when the 360 started its process of patching games, people were slating it for the possibility of games being released unfinished and new features being added in over time.
Now that Sony is doing it with Motorstorm, its all rosy. Game with no multiplayer? thats fine, we'll add it in later, time trial (a stape of racing games) much later! Seems people have been won over by the garphics in this game to actually care, but as long as its a one off rather than a trend, I can let it slide. |

This is the best racing game I've played in years. Hooked up to a 37" LCD, it looks unbelievable. My friends couldn't believe it at the weekend; now they're all desperate to get a PS3! I've got a 360 too, which is great, but I haven't seen anything this good on it. Maybe its just my expensive HDMI cable (I wanted the cheap official Sony one but they were all sold out, thank God) but the PS3 is producing incredibly sharp graphics compared to the 360.
Graphically, this is the best racing game ever, 10/10. Gameplay is amazing fun as well, and 8/10 seems a bit harsh. |

Ah, right. Because THIS one is positive. Not quite. You see with Resistance the earlier review was the exact same as this review, so i really didn't see the point, why not just re-direct it to the original review, or at least review it with the new patch. In Motorstorms case the game came in Japan without online, so a re-review with the online componant in is much more warranted than the resistance re-review which had zero difference between then and now. And they're patching a Time Trial WTF? o_O |

Colin McRae DIRT looks far more interesteing, and has better graphics.
Colin McRae is a completely different kind of game altogether. MotorStorm doesn't take itself too seriously, it's arcade action, and achieves the best of titles like Burnout, FlatOut and Road Rash, all compacted in one game. Although it is easy to see that some people prefer racing sims over this. |

I've played this, and its great. Some annoyances, but I'm glad to see the score didn't suffer unduly because of them, as your gameplay experience won't either.
Reminds me a bit of Micro Machines, as you get the same hectic tension at each crowded corner (accompanied often by the same bouts of swearing when someone else is a little more precise than you and you go plunging off the edge of some precipice as a result). I found the tilt control really good at speed, but fiddly when moving slowly (mainly because when you are trying to get back in the race your brain becomes incapable of applying the required fine adjustment). A bit more practice and it could be the preferred control method for many. |

If you compare the screen shots from MotoStorm (Playstation 3) to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (X360) it makes me wonder how the makers of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles thought they could get aways with releasing such a sub rate looking game (I've seen far better on the Playstation 2).

why does it always has to be like this? can you guys stop this incredibly long and dull piss contests? whats the point? The game looks good, its funny and its a launch title. Stop this stupid comparison with TMNT or the 360. Its pointless, both are good machines. Its coming from a guy that owns all 3 systems.

The reason this re-review is not being complained about is because what the re-review is about is a game which has changed since the last review, hence a re-review makes sense. The other one didn't. anyway, it doesn't matter.
I have this, and am LOVING it. Even in SD. :D |

Motostorm is indeed gorgeous to look at. What bugs me is the lack of car attributes like speed, handling, weight etc. It does feel like a game pushed out for launch, but a promise of what could be a terrific series.

I just LOVE funny racing game.
I'm a huge Mario Kart fan, but I also loved Big Red Racing (for the oldest memories among you) that we used to play in multiplayer at Infogrames on the company's LAN for long evenings... Immensely fun. We also played Powerslide (same kind of atmosphere) a few years ago. And now, this one and only game makes me want to buy a PS3... But 600€, pfff, it's way to much to play a few hours of arcade. |

The tilt-control is just plain awful compared to ExciteTruck (Wii), whether this is a problem with the game or with the Sixaxis in general I wait to see.
I would blame it on the implementation, it fixes the to tilt sensitivity a bit too high. The biggest problem is that the game doesn't even have an option to adjust the sensitivty. |

I see your point, but like Krudster said, the world had moved on a bit since the first R:FOM review, so a re-review for a UK audience, who had had four months of other games to look at and play, I reckon was pretty well deserved.
pfft i only say this because EG pulled a stunt with FFXII instead of re-reviewing it for the UK audience all they did was link us to the US review itself. I just don't get how they could do it with some and not others. |
