Good review and pretty good game! Takes time to get into it though.

Slight improvement on the previous game. Was motivated to get through it by being rewarded with bikina clad japanese girls in 3D.

I had more fun playing this, than the normal games of the franchise. Great round-based strategy with lots of gameplay options. The randomness of the cards adds a nice level of suspence and variations. The AI is tuned for fun, not for realism. Plus, i like the stylish presentation.

Sounds better than the traditional MGS games. Could anyone elaborate on how long a playthrough takes, and how much of that time will be spent loading stuff?

Also, should I even play the first one? The review says it's more of the same, only the sequel is slightly better, so I'm inclined to skip no. 1

I'd rather get MGS:PO, though this sounds interesting, it's not my cup of tea.

I would get both. Both are great and the second one is only slightly better.

a playthrough start to finish, including optional additional missions on each stage takes around 16 hours.
To just play the story missions you could probably finish it in about 8 hours.

as for loading times, they are actualy not to bad a few seconds here and there, but nothing serious (unlike many other PSP titles)

This is great, though not played it much.

Initial impression was 'more of the same' when compared to the original acid. Which isn't a bad thing as I loved that.

I played the original through to completion but as I mentioned, I've hardly played this one. Maybe I've just been too busy (compared to last year)?

Took me a full 20 hours to play though it from start to finish - well thats what the game clock said, and I think that includes mucking about inbetween levels getting your deck stacked just right, browsing the solid-eye theatre and buying new cards.

That also includes retrying several of the leves a few times as you can sometimes screw yourself with a badly-designed deck.

Doing the extra missions on each level will no doubt add extra play-time.

I'm a massive fan of all the other Metal Gear games, but I can appreciate Ac!d aswell. I must say 2 was much easier than 1. Finished it in three sittings. Very good review by the way. Can't wait for portable ops!!!
