w00t or something, a good review well before the release date. Agree with Tiitiz on the first one, and I really liked the demo of this one.

Another shooter! W00t!

Released this Friday. I'm up to my neck in games, this'll have to wait a bit.

nice to see that mere competency (and no new features) get 80%... I wish my A level markers thought as much

Is the latest demo the most recent build of the game? If so I'll not be buying, I was trying to see which way a guard was facing the other side of a wall using the thermal goggles and when I stopped using them (which doesn't involve any noise at all) he detected me through the afore mentioned wall!

They can be a little twitchy like that sometimes, they seem uncannily adept at knowing where you are at times, and at others they just run around in circles and don't have the foggiest idea you're crouching down in front of them. It's not generally like that though, there are just a few situations where things get silly.

You're supposed to shoot them, not admire them through the wall, Whizzo.
Unfortunately he was behind a door I had to go through and guarding a safe in a building with guards upstairs. You needed to be able to open the door and quickly take him out before he could raise the alarm, which obviously required him to be pointing the other way!

I can't get past this guard without raising the alarm and it's only the second objective in the demo!

Edit: gave up being subtle and just slaughtered everyone as they kept coming into a building I decided to to hideout in. Hmm they appear to have x-ray vision some of these guards when trying to find you then switch it off when they try to kill you!

Is it just me, or does the conclusion not match the score? 8/10 makes it look like a superb game, "it’s a fairly competent shooter" doesn't. What's it to be?
Agreed. I think, judging by what the review actually said, that this game is only worth 7 at best. But that's just my opinion :)

I get the same thing too, you have to move a long way away from stuff to be able to aim while prone. It's not a bad game, above average, but not an 8/10. Nolf2 kicks its botty. It's quite fustrating too, need a lot of patience.
