If you can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps put on the demo's of Dirt (30fps) and Sega Rally (30fps) and Ridge Racer 7 (60fps) and GTHD (60fps) and tell me that you can't tell the difference.

A potentially great game, ruined by the most ridiculous braking behaviour. :-/

I own the 360 version (never played the PS3 one) got to say there is no tearing in my game quite a bit of slowdown but no tearing.

well said that EvilFoxHound.

Even on the demo you can have four options for button config plus the 'custom' option. So many people readily comment on something as fact when they clearly haven't a clue. Pff.

"The triggers are fine for racing games, FPS? not so much. I've no problem with them. "

" "For us, it's bumper cam all the way"

Bonnet owns bumper every time.

You heathens."

I've always found 'bumper cams' and 'chase cams' rather weird and surreal, as they don't represent a view you would ever have in real life while driving the vehicle yourself.

The graphics in the first two games seems somehow more natural and realistic (particularly in Dirt), whereas the graphics in Ridge Racer and GTHD look very fake and computer-game-ish.

Is that a product of the doubled framerate? Cos if it is, I'd rather stick with 30fps...

Says an XBox360 fanboy.
Graphics...er mate I am talking about the speed/movement in this context. Graphics are irrelevant, look at Forza 2 (60fps) for an example.

Oh and by the way look at the newest GTPrologue Gameplay movie on PSN, and tell me again that Dirt and Sega Rally look more realistic!

A late post on this from me, as I just got it for the PS3 after having owned the 360 version for several months, on the strength of the demo. Krudster is wrong.

Sure, there's little difference on the rally sections, but on the racing events where there is more than one car on the screen, basically everything but rally and crossover. the 360 version takes a serious frame rate hit, which feels like its running at 15fps. The PS3 version doesn't exhibit this. This has made these fluff events far more appealing. Most other reviews have picked up on this framerate issue. I do concede that there is some occasional v-sync tearing on the PS3 game, mostly on cross-over races. It's minor, and I'd take that over a poor framerate.

Further, the handling seems to have a little more momentum built in. the cars feeling more weighty and drifty, and taking a little longer to slow down - the 360 version was criticised widely for being a bit Tron like in braking.

The visuals for me are also better on the PS3. Sure a few of the textures are softer, but others seem crisper. Bloom is toned down a little. Lighting is better. Maybe it's the HDMI connection, but I can pick out my line in technical sections of a stage far easier than I could on the 360.

And to be clear, I am no PS3 fanboy. I'm currently playing something like 14 games, 3 on the Wii, 2 on the PS3, and the rest on my primary games platform, the 360.
