It said that on Condemned as well miiiguel :)

Dead Rising isn't going to be a PS3 launch title though, that much is certain at this point. However, a PS3 version somewhere down the line(Be it sequel, port or tarted up rerelease) certainly isn't out of the question.

Hmm, sounds like it may be another case of the resi4 from cube to ps2 port. Only they added a wussy easy mode and took out some of the enemies...

/is only baiting...

Metalfish: you might be right, this version is pretty hardcore (gameplay-wise).

Fruit_Salad: what a great idea! hey, and now we're at it, let's us all buy some 40" LCD TV's now we're at it! - there is this concept called "money", my friend, which contrary to what you might believe, isn't very equally distributed.

Fruit_salad,not everyone can afford a ps3 let alone a ps3 and a 360.And miguel, your proberly most definetly right dead rising wont be in the launch lineup like i had hoped. But altough it says only on Xbox, doesent mean it wont come out l8er in the year on ps3.GTA was a ps2 exclusive, but then went to xbox as well.Resi 4 was gamecube exclusive, but went to ps3 as well.Half life 2 is xbox only atm,but its been confirmed that It will be going to ps3 l8er in 2007.So lets see what happens eh.

how hard can it be to type 'later' instead of 'l8er'? It's only one more letter!

Not meant to be fanboyist or something, not too much at least, but I can share with you my unexpensive rig (hey!, what a cool statement, huh ?!):
XBOX 360: 400 Eur
Samsung 32" HDTV: 1000 Eur
Chaise-long: 350 Eur
5.1 Infinity Sound System: 450 Eur

Note: amount can eventually duplicate, if one lives with girlfriend/wife.

Psychopompus: When I played the demo (indeed, when I played it at TGS last year) it still felt like it had a lot to prove, but the full game is much more convincing. Even with zombie-slashing fatigue I'd still recommend renting it to see whether it changes your mind - I'd be surprised if it didn't.

Not that it matters, but what was the point of having a first impression that read like a review, and then a review a few days later. Why not just slap a score on the end of the first article?

PearofAnguish - The first impressions was just random excitable words. The review was MUCH more coherent.

Btw. I assume this was played on a US 360 not a PAL machine? Still hoping that it is region free for us, and not just US and Japan...

PearOfAnguish: We wanted to bring you something on the game as quickly as possible, because there was a lot of interest. The review was based on a lot more play and consideration, and looked further into it (slightly more coherently, as SomaticSense points out) and dealt with a number things the impressions didn't or couldn't.

Gonna be picking this up next week. My brother and I both loved the demo so that sodding stupid "one save slot" restriction may cause some trouble :(

FFS, I've got a 20gb bloody hard drive - why only let me save one game?!

Something I feel that needs pointing out is that the restriction is one save per profile, not one save per Xbox360!

I needed an extra save slot for mates to muck around with, so I just created a guest user profile on my 360 and voila!

Regarding the save-game issue, it's one save per profile, so if you have friends wanting a go just create them another profile to play with.

You can save more than once but you need a memory card to house the extra save... it's not one save more like save to one device once...

I'm disappointed - largely because of the time constraints, the repetitive to-ing and fro-ing from the security room, and the "fail and you might as well quit" mechanics of the game.

In the demo you are blissfully unaware of these traits, in the full game it all becomes too apparent very early on in the game if you're the sort of tardy lazy bugger who likes to leisurely progress through a game.

It's very pretty though, very atmospheric, and a lot of fun - I gave it a 6 rather than an 8 because it falls down on some pretty deal-breaking points for me, but remains one of the most impressive 360 titles to date. I only hope and pray there's a sequel and someone chops Frank's watch-hand off.

The good news about the cut scenes is that you can skip them.

It is a brilliant game - but i really wished they'd thought a bit more about the save system. If it was just hordes of zombies, it wouldnt be too bad - but the game throws all kinds of unexpected challenges at you. Wonderful, just gratuitously frustrating in future.
