why are people talking about bleedin mario kart and sonic?? its not even as though they are comparative game... jeez... surely there is a forum for nintendo ds or something...

Well it's obvious isnt it? 360 games are a bit well.. not good.. so people have started talking about non 360 games..

Exactly Smelly...and tell me how you get on with Sonic Rush.

I downloaded a video of it from an 'American Site', and it looked rather good (and the music really is a little bit awesome).

Nice reflection of how Europe is looking towards the 360. It's a 360 game previewed here, and the discussion goes a bit off topic towards other games. I think it's a good turn of events. Finally people begin to see how aweful those 360 launch games are for 70 euro a piece. I, for one, like to buy 4 top games (some only a half year old) for that same price, without the need for a HDTV and an overpriced and overhyped Xbox 360. And have at least 4 times the fun and no frustration or anxiety when the box is going to overheat and you have to shut it down (or it will shutdown by itself). Just wait for a year and you can grab a 360 for half the price, without the apparant design faults and these games for a tenner.

My god Brombeer you're even more boring than the xbox fanboys, you really do spout some shit don't you?I can't wait for the ps3 launch line up,I mean what are some of you people expecting from Sony come 2007?AAA title after AAA title on day one,I think not,I bet the majority of sony's launch titles will be lazily ported 360 games.I think the only console to have anything resembling innovation and orignality on its launch will be the Revolution.
Anyway back to this game, originally I was going to buy it,but I think it'll be a lil too creepy for its own good, and as i'm a bit of a pussy i'd rather enjoy something fluffy and light like Kameo, rather than be sitting on the edge of my seat continuously soiling myself for 12 hours with this.
My god,six days to go,just hope my HDTV turns up on time.

Anyone with an open mind can see that the launch games for the 360 are some of the best for any console launch, and if sites such as this want to suddenly rate the games for what kind of GROUNDBREAKING, SOUL ALTERING innovations they bring then okay, 7s and 5s all around.

If you want to play a great new game with cutting edge graphics on a system that soon enough will see stuff not even remotely possible today, then the 360 and its launch games is absolutely fantastic. Anyone can see that, but then not everyone admits it.

(Or they have their head so far up their fanboy ass they honestly can't see it at all.)

Err..captainrentboy: Where do you see/think I'm a Sony fanboy?! I'm not. I think Sony's PS2 hardware is crap too. It's a cheap piece of plastic and metal. The PS2 line-up was crap too. The only one I applaud for their hardware is Nintendo. Never had any problem with them whatsoever. GBA, GBA SP, DS, N643, Gamecube, they all still work flawlessly. I'm on my third PS2, third Xbox. Says a lot doesn't it? It's just that Ninentdo doesn't make the games I want to play anymore, par the few exceptions. And no, I don't think the 360 has great launch games. They seem very rushed and I played a lot of hours already on the demo pods, mind you. I don't speak crap. And no, I don't think teh PS3 lineup will be grant. My point is: why not wait for (half) a year, and then get a cheaper console and games, with less chance of failures and avoid the hype altogether.

Fair enough Brombeer, although I never directly said you were a ps3 fanboy either.I'm getting a lil sick of people whinging about the launch line up that's all, like I said I see the ps3's being equally as unoriginal in many months time,if not worse. And don't people remember the ps2's?Fook me now that was awful.
Anyway i'll still be buying the 360 on friday, with my delightful GAME discount,so it's not as much of a wallet smashing purchase. And i'll just be praying that it doesn't over heat and explode, although i'm intelligent enough not to cover the freaking brick.

I think some of the fanboys here need to go their appropriate sections, Ninty Fanboys, or Sony Zombies whatever you are... do you really think anyone who is interested in the Xbox360 that doesnt worship the ass off Nintendo or Sony gives a fudge about what you think? Nope they dont and if they did theyd simply argue with you and thats just a waste of everyones time.

My opinion is its better to have lots of good games to play through at launch rather than one blockbuster title where the rest of line-up isnt up to snuff. Theres not alot wrong with the launch line-up at all. They are far from crap, the people who are saying that are the ones trying to convince themselves they are making the right choice waiting for PS3 or Rev(or maybe untill a 360 price drop), by coming here bitching and bashing they are showing they are atleast a little concerned about the competition(which is kind of a good sign for xbox fans). Otherwise why would it bother them enough to waste time reading review after review... when they say "all the games are crap the console is rushed blah blah blah" its complete nonesense.

Well it's looking mighty fine to me anyway just wish I could afford one lol.

Anyway for those who genuinly cant make up their minds and arent dribbling anti-"M$" Fanboys chances are you'll have to wait anyway. Which might be better than rushing in and buying it without knowing what your getting. Ive posted this already but these vids from game trailers are pretty damn good at showing off the 360.

http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=1589

I think this could have good chance of being one of my faveourite consoles ever... aslong as those games keep coming and continue to improve, the list of titles in developement looks awesome to me(posted in OXM). The console itself looks great, along with the controller and the snazzy dashboard that has a ton of new features compared to the old Xbox(see link).

About those silly people trying to claim Xbox360 is rushed and has a high failure rate... there hasnt been alot of confirmed hardware faults as it stands, most of them appear to be user errors. Like any console or indeed any electrical products there are bound to be some that do have faults this is a very small percentage.

"The power brick is too big and I dont own a nuclear powerstation..." yeah it is bulky but its not a big deal is it? and to say whats included in the 360 its actually pretty energy efficient, have a look at some of the PC set ups today and the powersupplies needed.
In the run up to launch around E3 Ive read about the lengths MS went to get some of these components to be energy efficient(GPU/CPU the chips themselves and the fans cutting out when not being used so much ect) which is why Im not quick to beleive some of the people making claims so early about high failure rates. This is only going to get better too when they shrink to a smaller process, I think Sony will have more trouble in this area with the cell and the Nvidia GPU as far as heat and power consumption go. With more processors and faster hardware your bound to need more power but the difference in power consumption isnt that great considering (Its been reported that Xbox360 will use "up to" 254W maximum, while the current gen uses 200W)

http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=11/32407292561.jpg&s=x12
On the photo above you can see the output is 203W either way its still way less than you're typical PC PSU and not much higher than the original Xbox. Theres 2 fans in the thing to keep it cool and people are covering it up not allowing air to circulate? Would you do that with your PC PSU or Laptop PSU? no because that would be stupid. An external PSU is easier to replace and improvements can be made.. we might see smaller versions pretty soonish. Would you rather have them release a PSU with no fans thats smaller to begin with that has to supply power to 3 powerful IMB PPC cores and one of the most powerfull GPUs available today for the sake of saving a tiny bit of space near your TV?

Theyve actually thought this out pretty well when you think about it, covered alot of angles and left the anti-Ms fanboys desperate for ammo.

Just finished CONDEMNED.

IMO: The EG review was underscored. I'd have said 8 would have been
more accurate after seeing how EG have reviewed other games over the last few months.

I had a BLAST with Condemned. It's strangely compelling, haunting and has atmospehere like no other game I've played.

The combat is repetetive at first but once you get the hang of it you realize there's more skill involved than clicking trigger on a shotgun.

Level design: generally very good with some areas that suck. Quite repetetive but the game kind of sucks you in and you don't notice it - you have to play for a few hours to understand what I'm saying.

Graphics: Amazing. They convey the squalid locations incredibly well. Impressed me WAY more than FEAR did on the PC (for what it's worth I enjoyed Condemned much more overall than FEAR also).

Audio: Spot on, does the job.

Generally: Never played a game that scared the shit out of me this much or had such an atmosphere....there's also a DEEP underlying storyline lurking there (if you delve enough)....

Definitely worth a try and a game that you cannot seriously comment on unless you've invested a good couple of hours playing it.

That's it....

ok, its Mid Monday morning and I thought I would see what score EG gave to a game I have just spent both Saturday & Sunday playing. This game is absolutely fantastic. EG is wrong to score it a 7, I think it was really worth a 8 defo!!
I would like to compare this game to resident evil 1 in First Person, Condemned is so "eery" and seriously gets the senses flowing, the part when your walking round the basement of the school is soo freaky, some fu*ked up freaks crawling round and disappearing into the blackness. When you here a book fall off a shelf and when you spin around you see something move.. it really drags you into the game. I would also like to point out that EG didn't even touch on the "dream" parts of the game, the lighting its fu*king immense! and really gets the heart beat going!!!.

graphics are top quality and the fact you can smash someone in the face with an axe or 3x2 with nails in it is really cool! executing the enemy is fun aswell!!

Also, about the game being too "go fetch, scan this" etc is true and I kind of agree, but I would bet my left testicle that if this game made you think alot more EG would of marked it down for becoming boring. When you have to scan for evidence, its not right in front of you, sometimes you do have to search things and look around, which makes things abit more interesting.

My personal score for this game would be 9/10

I'm a huge fan of Resident evils including the 4th/outbreak2 which I have on PSTWO, and having owned silent hill2 and 4 when i still had my older Xbox and as a fan of real asian horror flicks, A tale of two sisters, Ring, The grudge etc, this game blew me away, it nails all of them, it's a masterpiece.

It really just came out of nowhere and grabbed me by the nuts, brilliant, I'd like to see more captivating games like this on the 360.

Bring on Resi 5 and condemned 2!

Just started playing this game, it's really good,

at times in the game I've backed into a corner, with my fire axe because you can hear someone moving about in game. I don't think I've played a game where I've done this. I've played other scary games like project zero, silent hill & RE.

Got this on the cheap from play and can highly recommend it. However I felt the end was a bit of a let down. I won't go into to much detail but it seemed like it was just tacked on to extend the gameplay. it could have easily ended and hour earlier.
I do think that 7 is a bit low as it is one of the scariest, edge of the seat games I have ever played. especially when played in the dark with full 5.1 sound.

I would give it 8.5
