Now I love this, the music especially.

In fact, my wife loves it so much that this week I've had to go and buy a pocket PC so she can take it on holiday :P Shes racked up hours on the thing.

Err, fair enough. Puzzle games especially don't have to have decent graphics, cutting edge 3D graphics and the like, but this game is surely on par with columns on the Megadrive. Suppose it is a cheap download game though, so I'll let it off. I just can't help but think they could have done a little something extra graphics-wise.

£6.66 isn't way way cheaper, you can pick Zoo Keeper up for under £12.

And Zoo Keeper is by far the better game.

As good as the first Zoo Keeper review.

Which was spot on, imo. ;)

No, I think it was about £300 ish quid, plus I got stung for 2 2gb SD cards for MP3s :O

I would have probably tried the DS route if it was the lite, but there is simply no way in the world the missus would go for the current one. Too many of our nieces and newphews have them.

Can you point me to the free flash game that has comparable features?

Like the man said it is stupidly tough game but even as it is it's painfully addictive.
Must have put 40 hours into it and have only unlocked one of the new modes but i HAVE got a 8x cascade. Very tough stuff though for sure and utterly addictive.
It is hard to explain to friend why I am playing this and not PGR3 but its a case of need not want, they dont understand.

No, just the reaction of a non-gamer. Never had a problem with mahjong on the advance, odd but true.

@gazareth: Better than Hexic HD? No chance. Even without the fact that half of the colours on Hexic look the same, the damn thing is just tedious as hell - I much prefer this (althhough tbh I prefer backgammon, marble blast, zuma or outpost kalukei x to both)

I had one go on Hexic HD, and it bored me to tears, it just didn't have the "pick up and play" appeal of Tetris.

2 months later I finally managed to get BB in my flat, and the first thing I did with it was download Bejeweled 2!

I love it, personally. And I agree with gizmo, the music is great. And I prefer it over Bejeweled 1 for the funky worm-hole warp tunnel effect between levels alone...

/leaps to Hexics defense

Once you realise that Hexic is more like chess and the idea is to NOT get any combos, but slowly manipulate the board so as to produce as many flowers as possible, you'll realise it's genius.

Hexic is to puzzle games what Thief was to FPS.

for what it's worth, I had Zoo Puzzle (the PS2 version of Zoo Keeper) for a while before the DS one came out, and that kept me hooked for ages. even with a joypad.

Wouldn't go back now I've got the DS version, though. Well, maybe briefly, but only because the music absolutely pisses on the DS music.
