Quest for Booty out this month on PSN News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

4 August, 2008

Insomniac Games has said Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty will be available here from 21st August - the same day as the US.

The game costs USD 14.99 over on the other side of the ocean, but Sony Europe has yet to set a price. We're getting a regional Blu-ray release of Quest for Booty, although the exact date for that is also TBC.

Quest for Booty is the naughtily- and nautically-named PSN sequel to Future tools of Destruction.

The game is around three to four hours long and looks as impressive as Future Tools of Destruction did, only this time there are pirates with brilliant things like cutlasses and big leather boots and parrots.

Sadly there will be no Trophy support, as Insomniac finished the game before that feature was released in PS3 firmware v2.4.

Sail over to our Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty gamepage to find out more.

It'll probably be 14.99 in euros (exchange rate + rape tax)...

Sony's almost always done Euro = $$$'s... until recently...

How does Insomiac do it, I mean this would be their 3rd game launched on the PS3, and by the end of the year their 4th title.

Hopefully this game will be £9.99 or less. At £14.99 I'd be reluctant to buy this 3-4 hour long game even though R&C: ToD was one of my favourite games of last year. Siren was $39.99 in the US and £19.99 here so, fingers crossed, it costs us £7.49 not £14.99!

I wouldn't pay over £5 for 3-4 hours worth of content.

Although I don't have a PS3 yet, this is a definite purchase for me once I get the console, after I get and beat Tools of Destruction of course. If it's £9.99 that's a great price in my opinion for new fresh content, especially when if you're a Ratchet & Clank fan you know it will be very very good.

More stuff like this please Microsoft and Nintendo!

@Ace Grace

But you'd pay £30-50 for an 8 hour game?

It not a sequel

There were pirates and cutlassy things in the original.

It's a direct continuation from the end of tools of destruction. Ratchet is searching the galaxy for Clank. You'll know what I'm talking about if you completed tools.

"I wouldn't pay over £5 for 3-4 hours worth of content."

And still many people play £40-£60 for 5-6 hours of content on disk.

Based on the US price, Quest For Booty sould cost 50% more than "normal" PSN titles... about £7.50/€12. I doubt it will cost more than £10.
