Back to the Hilton in August.

id Software and its new corporate overlords Bethesda Softworks have announced the dates for QuakeCon 2010.

This year the free convention and LAN party event returns to the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas between 12th and 15th August.

As well as the usual tournaments, massive Bring Your Own Computer network and exhibition hall, QuakeCon should bring with it various id and Bethesda-related announcements.

Previous QuakeCons have seen the unveiling of games like Rage and Quake Live.

QuakeWorld is apparently still popular, and nothing has really been release to take the place of Quake 3 (aside from QuakeLive). Someone might suggest UT3 but...well... there's a reason why so many people still play UT1.

Quake is still very popular to some countries in which they have been creating or hosting some tournament and i have seen some of those. I guess the QuakeWorld would still be played for a bit longer because it really is a nice game for a tournament even if there are so many new games around that they would say it is better that Quake. Gauthier, Houghtaling and Williams
