Quake Live beta sign-ups open
Early access to the full release.
Id Software has begun taking applications for its Quake Live Beta Program.
Just shuffle over to the website and pop your email address in. Then, if you're successful, you will not only have a say in how the final game turns out, but also be given early access to it.
Quake Live is a browser-based version of Quake 3 Arena, which we liked very much thank you for asking. It has been trimmed and tweaked to run convincingly on almost any machine, and will be funded by ads, sponsorship and creative branding rather than by your money.
Despite being browser-based, Quake Live will actually be installed to your machine and not run in a web-page. But with a fast front-end and some shifted file structures it should all be very nippy, apparently.
Pop over to our Quake Live gallery for the first two shots.

I have recently started playing CPMA [Challenge Pro Mode] again, after getting back into it. It is still by far one of the most playable and fun online games out there several years on. It just shows how playability can surpass technology.
I've signed up! Fingers crossed I get to be part of the Beta!
Good ol' ID.
