Q working on PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap?

Unannounced game pops up on ESRB site.

It's a strong day for internet detectives, who have also discovered that the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) website carries a listing for an unannounced PixelJunk game.

Yes, according to the ESRB site, Sony America has gotten itself an "Everyone" rating for PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap. Thanks Destructoid for spotting that one.

We never actually reviewed the original PixelJunk Racers on Eurogamer, but the game was a slick-looking top-down slot car racing affair in which players had to navigate an increasingly fast car through slow-moving traffic without error.

The most recent game in the PixelJunk series is the splendid PixelJunk Shooter, and Japanese developer Q-Games recently revealed it is working on a direct sequel.

We've asked Sony for clarification on the PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap listing, so we'll let you know if we hear anything back.

PixelJunk Racers is hugely underrated - if a little too tough at times. Lots of fun and a huge variety of modes and ways to play given the slot car design.

The original was not as well received as later Pixeljunk games and probably rightly so, though if they had added trophies I may have given it a bit more time. Was OK.

It was far more than that ^

It's kind of disappointing how the article is worded... Everyone categorized Racers as a racing game... I was thinking it was more of a puzzle game than a racer. I think if you play it as a racing game, you may miss out on what Q wanted you to experience. Hopefully this is an add-on since it's the only game that didn't get one, besides shooter which just came out. If so they will probably add trophy support.. maybe like they did for Monsters...

PixelJunk Racers has more in common with rhythm games than racing games. Timing lane shifts, slipstreams, etc. to maximize speed and progress. A one of a kind game really.

Concentrate on PJ Shooter 2: in the belly of the beat

It's a shame it released post Thanksgiving/end of the gaming year *eye roll* as it didn't seem to get as much attention as it deserved

Have all the PJ games - this is probably the weakest... it was frustratingly tough. Whereas Eden was also frustratingly tough I enjoyed the experience more.

I don't know how to use spoilers properly : /

Where did PJ dungeons go? I was looking forward to seeing how it turned out, did it get canned?

Earl, where did you get the demo from, because last time I checked (about two weeks ago), I couldn't find a demo for PJ Racers.

Gibroon. Dylan Cuthbert said a couple of weeks ago that they probably won't release Dungens but elements from it will be in all of the future Pixel Junk games. Whatever that means.

@KentMonkey: The demo is years old and was released the same week as the demo for Clive Barkers Jericho. Don't ask me why I remember that, I just remember useless information about random dates.

EDIT: on further inspection, I can't find the demo for PJ:R either, they must have taken it down for whatever reason.

I think I downloaded the demo of racers from the US store.
