Puzzle Quest bound for iPhone

There goes every journey ever. Again.

D3Publisher has announced plans to bring Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords to iPhone and iPod Touch this autumn.

There's no word on a specific release date, but you will be able to find it on Apple's amazingly popular iTunes App Store once it's released.

Puzzle Quest, of course, is an RPG with puzzle elements, where players compete in a Bejeweled-style tile-switching game to whittle down their enemy's hitpoints by making skulls disappear and performing spells.

It was fabulously popular on DS, PSP and later on Xbox Live Arcade and PC, despite a weaker Wii version, and assuming the iPhone version takes advantage of the touch-screen for control, it should be good on Apple's platform.

Meanwhile, those of you who have had your fill can look forward to Neopets Puzzle Adventure from the same developer (Puzzle Quest with Othello instead of Bejeweled, effectively) or the sequel Puzzle Quest: Galactrix.

They'll have to be very short journeys. Battery life sucks on the 3G iPhone.

It lasts a fuck of a lot longer than the PSP.

Can't imagine this on a touch screen... not without a stylus at any rate.

Going to be interesting to see how much it will cost. The games on the iPhone seem to cost 1/4th of DS/PSP releases so far, even high profile ones like Super Monkey Ball. The day will come where a game is releases simultaenously on the iPhone and one of the other two, at vastly different price points.

Actually looking forward to this. iPhone has been surprisingly good as a gaming hand-held.

Battery life on mine is fine. Get a three days of good use out of it (if you keep BT and WiFi off for the most part). Hammering it, it will last 1.5 days.
