PSP could get Trophies too
Buzz producer spills beans.
The PS3 Trophy system could be heading to the PSP, according to Buzz! Master Quiz producer Emerson Escobar.
He was talking about rewards in the PSP quiz game during the GameSpot Live E3 2008 Stage Show, before he unveiled rather more than he probably should have.
"The cool thing is it isn't just getting the gold medal," began Escobar. "We've also implemented a trophy system. Let's say you answer a question within one second, you get a lightning finger trophy.
"If you answer a question within half a second, you get a supersonic trophy," he added.
However, when asked directly about Trophies on PSP, Escobar reportedly grinned, laughed sheepishly and said to "check back with us later".

How many PSP owners go online to show off these trophies.
I may be the only one but I think this is pointless

I can't really see the point of implementing them, if they would therefore be supported be only a few titles.

+1
I also don't see the point in this.
I can't see anyone being impressed by a 'lightening finger'...well not by playing Buzz anyway!

Fair enough, although for me achievements are a nicety while I play, not necessarily an incentive to play more.

I do like my PSP but it doesn't come out much unfortunately.
I'd rather they spent the time making games, like wise for the PS3.

To start a precedent for the PSP2?

Did you not see Sony's E3 press conference!? >

Yes I did and went away unimpressed. I just feel since owning a PS3 it's been a bit of a non event.
I have 50+ PS2 games as well as a similar amount on PS1 but have 4 for my PS3. Resistance 2 will probably be really good as i'm sure they'll learn from the mistakes of the first one and same goes for Killzone 2. LBP looks great but that's 3 titles over a period of roughly 7 - 8 months. I am talking exclusives here by the way.
I'm also gutted about about the lack of 1080P support in games which still seems elusive.

But hey, if the PSP gets trophies too, and I'm able to update a list in both the PS3 and PSP for both devices, I'll very much like the feature, of course.
But they really should get the in-game XMB more functional first.

**ohhhh come to my HOME and look at my trophies!!** Oh wait Home isn't out until 2009...oh and no one wants to take the time to come to your HOME to see your stupid trophies. The whole concept is such a joke...worst part is that Sony is banking everything on HOME. Can't wait to see what they say when it flops.
